Bean Salad

October 16, 2009 by Thomas K

The recipe is very simple yet very yummy! The pan roasted carrots and fresh dill take all the attention away from the canned beans. This is a great dish for any picnic and will work great for work lunches.

Chicken in a Pot

This simple chicken dish is served with a dipping sauce that adds a spicy taste. For color or garnish, you might want to add 1 c. of chopped carrots at the same time that you put in the cabbage.

A similar dish prepared with beef is called shabu shabu, and when fish is used, it is called chirinabe.

Bulgur Salad

A delicious salad. The bulgur is cooked in chicken broth which gives it a hearty flavor. And the dressing is pungent and wonderful. All the veggies - tomatoes, onions, fresh parsley and fresh mint leaves - blend in beautifully, and the whole salad comes alive when chilled.

Chicken Carbonara

September 7, 2009 by Thomas K

It’s been awhile since I had some Italian food and Chicken Carbonara sounded great, and indeed it was. If you are not familiar with chicken carbonara is it basically a type of chicken spaghetti. Pasta noodles, with chicken and bacon in a delicious parmesan sauce. The only other thing I added to the recipe was peas, but mushrooms and onions would be a great addition as well. Now the recipe does call for raw eggs in the sauce so what you are going to want to do is mix the sauce in the piping hot noodles right after you drain them. This will kill any bacteria. Serving with garlic bread is a must. Enjoy.
