Marzipan stuffed baked apples

100 g | marzipan |
2 cl | rum |
50 g | sultanas |
50 g | almond slivers |
4 tsp | apricot jam |
2 tbsp | brown sugar |
0.5 tsp | cinnamon |
20 g | butter |
vanilla sauce for serving |

Kerner Kabinett, 2012
The pleasant tartness and light residual sugar of this crisp white wine from the Kerner grape harmonizes very well with the fruity apple and raison aroma. Ideal temperature is 9 – 11°C/50°F.
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180°C/355°F. Remove core from the apples.

Step 2
In a large bowl, combine marzipan, rum, sultanas, almond slivers, and apricot jam.

100 g marzipan / 2 cl rum / 50 g sultanas / 50 g almond slivers / 4 tsp apricot jam
Step 3
Stuff apples with the mixture.
Step 4
Place apples in a casserole dish. Dot the apples with butter.

Step 5
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon and generously sprinkle the apples with the sugar mixture. In a preheated oven, bake apples 180°C/355° for approx. 20 – 30 min. Serve with warm vanilla sauce.
