Croque-monsieur-2
I love croque monsieur. It’s easy to make, so comforting, and never disappointing.

8 slicestoast
4 tspDijon mustard
4 slicesham
4 slicessliced cheese (e.g. Gruyère, Gouda)
200 mlsauce Mornay
150 ghard cheese (e.g. Gruyère, Parmesan)

baking sheet, oven, fine grater, parchment paper

Wine Tip

IPA (India Pale Ale)
A fruity, slightly tart, and tangy beer is a great addition to hearty meals. The spicy ham pairs well with the bitterness of the hops, while the fruity aromas serve as a nice counterpart to the spice of the mustard.

Preheat oven to 200°C/390°F. Place half of toasts on a parchment-lined baking sheet.Spread an even layer of mustard over them . Follow up with a slice of ham, a slice of cheese, and an even layer of part of the sauce Mornay.
