5 minutes of prep 20 minutes of cooking and you are eating large almost anywhere and yes that includes [Music] camping we received the request my wife and I attended a music festival bonro do you know it yeah is it big yeah it’s huge it’s int with 80,000 of our closest friends each year limited cooking resources small butane powered cooktop cooler lice boiler boiler it’s a boiler cooler life no no no a cooler with ice a boiler cooler Li and a skillet or all we bring our go-to breakfast is peanut butter bagel with honey it’s okay relatively healthy too lunch is usually suddenly salad PB&J sandwich or canned chicken tacos could we have a conversation about canned chicken anything dinner for one of the food trucks which includes $20 hot dogs and $10 lemonades perhaps an episode challenge for cheap easy and good recipes that be cooked using limited camping resources thanks for any ideas Lyle and Amy Wallace Collinsville MS Mississippi Mississippi Lyall and Amy we can do this because it’s you and because we can’t have you eating canned eing chicken tacos might be Missouri hold on what’s MS chance I don’t know I’m Canadian still mostly Mi might be oh no Ms is Mississippi Mississippi no canned chicken tacos so here’s what we’re doing we’re doing chicken bacon ranch foil packets damn it that’s what we’re doing and here’s why I like this you can have this all prepped before you leave colins Ville Mississippi you throw it in your cooler cuz you said there was a cooler with ice then all you do is heat the grill drop it on 20 minutes later Bob’s your uncle and you’re eating large then you get back to bonaroo what kind of music all kinds all kinds of music country no country no country so not all kinds maybe some country maybe some kind not all kinds appar like a Coachella lineup a Coachella lineup would they let me in yes should see his face he wouldn’t let me in all right so we’re going to do this seriously prep 5 minutes cooking time 20 minutes done You’ be so damn happy so damn happy here we go let’s go let’s go let’s go boys so chicken bacon ranch would require chicken as you can imagine but before we poison the deck with the chicken let’s cut the vegetables and here’s what I’m using jalapenos long uh red peppers they’re not too hot and yellow onion and this bowl is where this stuff will go so the long guys like this and these I’m just going to cut like this so we’re making two of these let’s see maybe one of these will be enough and they’re not so hot so leave the seeds this goes in the bowl and now jalapenos the jalapenos though probably don’t want the seeds so let’s just do this we’ll just get the seeds out and because they’re not that big I will put two in if you get a little seed left it’s no big deal unless like your aunt suie is absolutely against any seasoning and then she’s probably not eating these anyway so you’re fine these guys will cut similar to the Reds across and in these go the onion break it up as you put it in you need these giant pieces sweet now the chicken so this is uh slightly more than 8 oz 4 oz per packet is pretty good so we’re going to cut this into bite-sized pieces you know when they’re camping at bonaroo they don’t want to drag out the knife to deal with this if they don’t have to so we’ll make it easy for them come back to the campsite throw this on cuz they’ve already made it and get back to the music you never went to a music festival back in your day I don’t think they had music festivals back in my day I’m trying to think Woodstock Woodstock that wasn’t my day not well I’m not no I was young I was too young then yeah I was I was a baby I missed out on everything God I was too young to go then now I’m too old to go to this [ __ ] and I know I did not go to olding Cella just because they were calling it that and I didn’t want to say that I went because that would have made me old now I’m upset I must continue this is not about me this is about Lyall and Amy and saving them from the canned chicken tacos who’s had canned chicken never I know it’s a thing I think Costco sells a [ __ ] ton of okay uh let me just clean this and then a couple other things to add so here’s our beautiful work so far we’re going to add a few things to it the first will be some shredded cheddar cheese about a half a cup this is four slices of thick cut bacon cooked it’s just not going to be in the packet long enough to cook by itself but I have not cooked it too super crispy because that’s my favorite way to have it this is a/4 of a cup of cream cheese so I think the way to do this in part of my hands is just drop little knobs of it in here so is all going to get mixed and this will will add a beautiful creaminess beautiful we have to season a bit so I’ve got a big clove of garlic We’ll add beautiful little pinch of salt and pepper not too much because coming up next is our ranch seasoning powder and it’s pretty salty but you do want some traditional salt scatter this over and this is about 2/3 of an ounce last but not least you need something to hold all this together and I was going to use oil and then I had a better idea this bacon grease which is essentially oil that was the result of the bacon cooking I’m going to use this let’s amplify that bacon part of the bacon ranch make this better and we’ll see I may need a little extra oil too and this we will mix if there’s big chunks of onion just give them a break okay I’m going to go just another sort of half a tablespoon of oil that looks better foil packet time all right you got a couple choices we’re not pimping this company just going to show you something you don’t want your stuff to stick so you have a choice if you use traditional foil I would spray it or or you could use this non-stick there’s two sides one is stick and one is nonstick I’ll use this one though you want two fairly long pieces and I like to double it over beautiful my spray nothing’s going to stick on this damn it ly and Amy I got your back and now we just take half of this because we’re making two and in we go great it doesn’t have to be an absolute single flat level thing but if it’s stacked up like this you get the idea the stuff on the top is not going to cook very well so do this with it how beautiful does that look and now we want a good seal so the top comes over on both sides and then we’re going to do a couple folds so the steam stays in like this and one more nice and tight find your Edge Corners get folded same on this side and when it’s nice like this just do the other one and that’s it two packets now we go to the grill and it’s as easy as this one and two it’s going to take probably 20 minutes not much more than that just to keep a little extra heat in I’m going to put a cap on them like this of course you could open it up at the 20 minute mark check your chicken you know what it should look like you know you wanted about 160 to 165 see on the other side and it’s time you see it’s puffed up a bit this guy for sure let’s take them off oh man oh could have used a glove I will next time but let’s go open them up here we are I choose this big boy all right let’s do this shall we I suppose there’s the option of waiting right let it cool down a bit but why would I do that we’re all ready now we open up and oh voila okay I can tell you right now what this is missing like some amazing bread look at this sauce down here that you know good that’s going to be of course you could put any vegetables you want in there potatoes would be a good option mushrooms probably a good option though they might get too soft and I don’t know if you want that listen L and Amy whatever you want to do you can you could serve this on Rice you could get those boiled packets of rice throw in hot water boiling water you do have a boiler you said so maybe use it for that you know what I think you could also do you could take a a long baguette cut it in half pull out the extra bread and drop this in the middle of it now you’ve got a great sandwich that you could hold in one hand and dance your faces off to who ever on the main stage at bonaroo you know I’m always talking about the smell that comes off of stuff we make and this is absolutely no exception the ranch the garlic little clumps of melted cream cheese with little strands of cheddar on top I’m telling you that little it made a gorgeous little sauce that I want to dip bread into so get some bacon and some chicken and need some vegetables too you mentioned everything that they could have done with this how about chicken bacon ranch tacos not out of the can wow there you go okay you guys heard Lyall Amy this is your new Taco holy [ __ ] let’s go and weat so happy to be eating it is so perfectly cooked bacon ranch on the grill don’t got a grill do it in the oven no sweat probably 350° I don’t know try it open it up if it’s not done oh my gosh all of this the the cream cheese in here is fantastic little sharpness from the cheddar the ranch perfumes everything beautiful okay I want take another bite and I can’t because somebody behind that camera gets really upset when I have two bites so I’m just going to say thanks for hanging out one of those knives could be yours we’re going to choose a person in every video this year put their name like here but the key is your name will only show up there
