Gordon Ramsay travels to Baltimore to try to turn around a restaurant that is suffering because its owner, Denise Whiting, has managed to alienate the surrounding community. When Denise opened Café Hon in 1992 it was a roaring success, but as a result of her unwavering business ambition the local community decided to boycott the restaurant, leaving Denise frustrated by falling sales.
Season 5, Episode 16
Gordon Ramsay travels to South Philadelphia to try to turn around family-run restaurant Chiarella’s, which is struggling to survive in an area full of thriving Italian establishments. That isn’t the only problem facing owners Tommy and Dina Defino. Their marriage is on the verge of collapse.
Season 5, Episode 17
Gordon travels to Philadelphia to visit a Mexican restaurant called Zocalo. At one point, this restaurant played Cupid to a young couple who met, fell in love and married while working here together. Greg and Mary Russell loved the place so much that they pooled their resources and bought it. However, it seems that Cupid’s arrow had a poisoned tip: the restaurant has become an albatross around their necks.
