  1. I’m from Calabria and my eyes are shining. However, we’re not an island, we are at the end of peninsula, the famous “toe of the boot” (in fact if you see, Italy shape is similar to a boot)

  2. Just to add a few tips on choosing good extra virgin olive oil (EVO)
    1. Look at the date of production if available on the bottle. The more recent it's been made, the fresher it is and the better the taste.
    2. Origin of the olives.
The best EVO has their olives come from one place because that means that the olive oil is bottled right after pressing, which means fresher olive oil. Regarding the location itself, this depends on personal preference. In general I suggest keep the source in the same continent you live in. If you are in Europe, olives from Europe are the best because it ensures freshness. Wether you like Italy, Spain, Greece, that is up to you (try different locations). If you are US based, try to look for oils made in California or other regions that match the climate olives need for healthy growing.

higher price, does not mean higher quality. Check these items to make sure you get the best olive oil for your money!
    Kind regards,
    An Italian
