Can Angela Hartnett convince Joe Marler to like haggis? | Dish Podcast
He may be a Faithful… but is Joe Marler the only Dish guest in history to be a traitor to the Sunday roast?
A former rugby union player, podcaster, TV personality and, not to our knowledge, a Christmas non-lover, Joe joins us this week in Santa’s Grotto (aka Dish HQ)! Surrounded by Nick’s infectious festive cheer, he puts all Christmas controversy aside for tacos and a chat about his new podcast Joe Marler Will See You Now, where he puts guests through their paces with his one-of-a-kind people-reading skills.
Although it’s December, when Joe’s favourite things include coleslaw, barbecues and anything low-and-slow, there’s only one direction to go. Angela answers the call with Gurdeep Loyal’s jalapeño honey pulled pork with lime slaw recipe, served with soft tacos and paired with a chilled glass of Laurent Miquel Nocturnes Viognier.
As we know, Joe’s not unfamiliar with posing big questions to a round table, so at ours he gets straight into the important stuff: What is white pepper? Is it jalapeno or jalapeño? Why are we only using chipolatas for pigs in blankets? We also hear how his fondness for cake once got him into kitchen trouble and why cockles are his personal line in the sand. We finish with the only quiz that truly matters: Which biscuit best represents your personality?

skip the black pudding but love haggis so much
Noooooooooooo HP sauce……stop please…..I'm a Scot whirlin at the thought 😂
Gross….I never tried Haggis because I was told that "it looks like shyte, smells like shyte, and that when you take a bite you WISH it WAS shyte." No thanks….
I’m with Joe, I even find lamb chops difficult.
I'm not Scottish, nor am I someone who eats offal by choice. I like salmon and lobster and steak. But I can't deny that as a foodie, haggis is somehow, surprisingly, delicious. Like genuinely enjoyable. Not "nice considering what's it's made from". Just really tasty
My scotch great grandfather would make this black pudding on Sunday breakfast I loved it.
luv haggis, had it 4-5 times this last few months, its not from the butchers in Dungwall but its ok
Eats like a child
Joe tries too hard…. not a natural celebrity like Angela and Nick.
