Kabawa is one of NYC’s most talked-about new openings (and already being labeled a top-tier spot)… so we went in expecting fireworks.
This is a quick scouting report, not a hype reel: what actually delivered, what surprised me, and what felt questionable, including a $75 add-on that didn’t deliver.
Highlights: A wonderful hibiscus daiquiri, the hot buttery roti with spreads and desserts
Lesser Lights: A few mains that were either a home run… or a “wait, what?”. Particularly the pork for 2 that was expensive and just not great

Liked, but didn't LOVE my meal here. Was disappointed by the signature main pork dish, but did love the welcome platter and the desserts.
