If you like your homemade chili thicker,
Add refried beans to the mix. ThankU kindly for sharing the chili recipe. Yummm
Fire-roasted tomatoes are tomatoes that have been charred over an open flame or under a broiler to create a smoky, sweet, and slightly charred flavor.
Chili without chili powder? š¤ The chili fixings tomatoes probably has a little in them, but regular tomatoes would not.
Hi Tom my husband was on our police department for 36 years and he would have loved this chili. He sadly passed away in 2002 of leukemia. He liked. Fritos with his chili instead of crackers.
Thanks to all policemen and women for all you do! This chili is right up my alley.
The fire Roasted are not spicy
They got a extra hot Rotel too
āHello Tom and Melissa…It's super cold here in Ohio 10° and it has been snowing all day. Chili does sound wonderful since it's so cold here 10° and to go to Zero. Good Night š“ God Bless LuvYa! Bye from NE Ohioā Stay safe and warm.
T & M Thanks for all you show me & make life simply delicious. I love you. Dewayne Willis
There is nothing like a good chili recipe. I can't wait to try this for my family. Especially since it was made for the police department. Our wonderful police that we support. It seems like the police Department really enjoyed it.
In all of the crazy times, Yaāll are a blessing š„°
In reference to the heat, what was the potency of your canned chilies? That makes a difference.
Thanks for the yummy Police Dept Chili recipe! This is a great recipe to make simple adjustments that can vary the heat. All the good stuff is in it. A little more of this, a little less of that, according to taste, and bada bing! Everybodys happy! Thanks especially for taking the time to give thanks to our dedicated law enforcement. They do their best to keep us safe.
Hi, Melissa and Tom! Do y'all have an Aldi? They have fire roasted tomatoes. Around here (Lewisville, TX) Wal-Mart has their brand, Del Monte, Hunts and Contadina. I don't use anything else, even when a recipe calls for petite diced tomatoes. Top the chili you made with sour cream to cool it off. š Stay safe y'all. ⤠from Texas ā¤
I just placed a grocery order for the items I will need to make this chili tomorrow evening for supper. Chili is not my favorite but my husband loves it and I'll definitely give it a try, maybe over a small baked potato. I'm surprised there is no chili powder in it, but I'm sure it will be good even without it. Thanks for sharing, it has me inspired.
this would be so yummy after shoveling snow all day here in Pa.
Tom and Melissa I would need to triple this except green chilies Iād omit them totally we have reflux and we donāt eat spicy and Iād omit Cheyanne pepper. This doesnāt make much does it doesnāt contain many being used for numerous cans of beans to bulk it up
I absolutely love movie theater popcorn itās the best
The fire roasted tomatoes are not spicy just a little chared by fire very pleasant . Tom added spicy.not chard
Donāt forget the sugar!
Wow what a great looking chili! I make several versions throughout the winter. This one will make a great addition to my repertoire. Hope you are okay after the storm. 8 inches here in Jersey but we did not lose power. God bless you, Tom and Melissa. And we thank God for our police officers
⤠I like chili like many others. But I do not have a tongue lined with asbestos. Thank you for sharing your suggestions for how to avoid too hot Chili. Enjoy your movie trip. And ask for extra butter on Mrs. Wyant's popcornš That's why popcorn was invented. Movies and baseball games.. Have a Great week.āŗļøš¹š„š
Firstly, I agree 100% that we should all give thanks to our first responders. They risk their lives to keep us safe. God bless them all.
Sounds delicious. Must try. Blessings
Add a little sour cream and some cheddar cheese to cool down the spice if itās too hot!!
My green pepper soup has fire roasted tomatoes in it and they add heat too. It also has plain petite diced tomatoes, which helps tame the fire roasted. Thanks for sharing this recipe. ā¤
I have to add that our family has had and still do have several fire, paramedic/EMT, police, and medically trained/nurses. We are so proud of all of them! However, I would like to ask that people become aware of what a toll these careers can take on these dedicated people. Their mental health is greatly affected by what they see and do. My son was a fireman and 20+ year paramedic. They have nightmares about what they have seen. My son called these ādemonsā. Last April 22, he lost his life to suicide. He was 48 years old. In a note he left, he asked that we all advocate for mental health help for people in these fields of service. There is very little help offered to help them deal with these things. I hope it is okay for me to share this need in your comments. Everyone loved and respected my son and he loved and respected them too. His name was Roger Lange and he was from Catlin, Illinois. His life verse was from Isaiah 6:8: āHere I am;send me.ā
OH MY GOODNESS!! Being my recipe, this made me cry like a little girl!! And Iām 70ā¦.I canāt wait to show this to my sonā¦yes, he retired after 30 years of service and one of his brothers is also law enforcementā¦really proud momma moment! I have to say that I really didnāt expect you to do this one because of your chili recipeā¦I had forgotten I sent it in & was thinking I should send something else in, which I still may doā¦anyway, thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I hope some of your followers try it, and yes, the heat did come from those tomatoes, so if you donāt like it so spicy, use plain or fire roasted. I would always serve it with hot sauce & jalepenos on the side, plus sour cream, shredded cheese & Fritosā¦thank you so much Tom & Melissa ā¤and by the way, thank you for giving a shout out to our men & women of law enforcement⦠even before my sons became police, Iāve always had an immense respect for what they doā¦back the blue always š¤šš¤
Are you guys not going to Florida this winter? Just curious.
I bought 7 of your cookbooks for Christmas gifts. LOVE it.I watch a Äŗot of your shows. PearÄŗ Grimsley. Ellavil l e Ga.
I learned the hard way when making 10x batch of chili for Church, you do not double the spices each time! š„µ You only put in 1/4 of the spices for each time you doubling the recipe. Love your channel!
Why do you never cook the onions in the beef at the same time?? I have always done that! šššā¤ā¤ā¤
I also cook the garlic with the beef & onions.ššš
CAN YOU MAKE A PEANUT BRITTLE WITH HONEY
I went back & watched your other chili recipe you talk about in this video. I always put tomato paste in my chili, as well as almost everything you put in yours… I just wanted to tell you about something else I tried & it was fabulous! I couldnt find any canned tomatoes at my local grocery store that had the pull tops. So I bought a large jar of mild Salsa and put that in my chili as a substitute! We loved it. šššā¤
I just do not put beans in my chili i thank its a Texan thing thatās why i was in aw when she put beans in it lol but it looks great
I always add a dollop of sour cream, grated cheese, abd actually grated onion on top of my chili
