  1. If you invite your parents, or anyone for that matter, for celebrating your promotion at work, especially at a fancy restaurant, you are expected to pay for the dinner… Other than that the parents are in the wrong.

  2. The problem with restaurant bill is that op invited the parents to her celebration of getting a 6 figure salary though😂 so how can OP expect her parents to pay for it when she invited them. The one who invites, pays for the bill no? Besides that Op is right in not giving them money for anything

  3. I'm confused with some of the comments. When ppl invite you to join them at a restaurant for their birthday or retirement or promotion, each pays for their own food and sometimes someone wll pay for the person being celebrated, not the other way around.

  4. Well, try this one for size from the day that my father & my stepmother who were bringing me up like I was an inconvenience to them .
I went to school in beare feet, 1 book 1 pencil, often no lunch. They made sure that nobody believed a word that i say. Especially about their abusive behaviour toward their 10 children, As I grew older I thought how come mum & dad were fat around the waist whike we were so thin, my only conclusion that I came to was while we kids ate very little they were feasting like theres no tomorrow.
But the lies that they told everyone didn't stop until they were dead & buried in 2005 & 2006. Mum would say that I was fat as wide as an axe hanle, while both of them were fat as 3 axe handles. ..

  5. I love how parents act like this… they brought you into the world but then they’re mad that they had to care for you after they brought you into the world. Maybe they just shouldn’t of had kids then?

  6. you legally don't have to do anything for them (other than pay the bill due to the fact that you invited them to your party. it's expected that the host/hostess pay.) If they get a BMW and can't pay for it, it's their fault and you don't have to pay for it

  7. OP wanted the parents to pay for a dinner her invited them to, this has to be a joke😂😂

  8. Tell your parents they don’t get Trophies for raising your own children , they’re suppose to do that !! 🙄🙄

  9. I don't think come celebrate with me means I will pay for everything.🤨 I personally would not let the person I'm there to celebrate pay for mine or their dinner.

  10. The parents were the one who made the conscious decision to have children, so therefore they are not obligated to force their adult children to finance their retirement.

  11. Entitlement entitlement… Can you imagine going to get a and expect someone else is going to pay for you no Playa negotiation nothing!!! My God how entitled can one be!?!? It's amazing

  12. Paid a bill you created? Orthough the parents were rude and could have checked in, YOU invited them, so you pay, if you wanted everyone to share then you should have said so at the start, if it was me we all pay our own way. But for them to order the most expensive thing knowing they were not going to pay or contribute, that is wrong but you invited them, if this situation happened in real life

  13. Well, the person who does the inviting does the paying.

However, you do not owe them anything for raising you.

  14. This is most parents out there lots of parents feel entitled to believe they children are the pension plan

  15. Your parents are thieves who need to be sued for the return of your grandmother’s legacy. They don’t have the right to steal it go on enjoy the moment and get rid of the thieving bast@#&s.😊

  16. if you´re inviting people to a restaurant it is implied that you´ll pay.
however, what your parents are doing is not ok.

  17. This is fake. BTW. If you extend an invite either be prepared to pay or settle the terms beforehand so there's no misunderstanding

  18. People need to know that they do not owe their parents anything or owe them any back money from everything they spent on you…they did their job raising you and feeding you and putting a roof over your head like they legally should.
