Trisket | Dining With Dash
The best of both worlds! The tri tip is definitely our favorite cut and combining it with the cooking technique of a brisket makes it that much better. If you’ve never tried a trisket, check out the details below and try it for yourself. You wont be dissapointed.
Ingredients:
1 whole tri tip, trimmed
Lillies Q Brisket Pepper
Lillies Q Q-Rub
1 cup beef broth
1 cup apple juice
4 tbsp butter
Directions:
1. Season tri tip with Brisket Pepper then Q-Rub. Wrap in plastic wrap then refrigerate overnight.
2. Add water tray to smoker then preheat to 250 for 15min. Place meat in the middle with the fattier side down. Leave undisturbed for and hour.
3. In a spray bottle, mix together beef broth and apple juice. Spritz every 45min until the internal temperature reaches 165.
4. On a piece of butcher paper, lay out 2 tbsp of butter then spray heavily with spritz. Add the meat then add 2 tbsp of butter on top. Spritz heavily then wrap tightly. Return to the smoker.
5. Once the internal temperature hits around 205 and a thermometer slides in and out like butter, pull to rest.
6. Once rested, slice against the grain, drizzle with juices from the butcher paper and serve.
