My father didnโt even have the excuse of other kids or a second wife. He was just a deadbeat. Occasionally his parents would pay him to spend time with me. The last chance I gave him to spend time with me, on his birthday with a dinner cake I provided, he avoided by dying from a gunshot wound the week before
If this were me, I would have yelled at dear old Pops, and kept the money. I have no pride. I would have demanded more with his other family present. He owed me.
