This Thai Roadside Restaurant Literally Served Fire

This meal was one of those moments that reminds you why eating local matters. We sat down at an open-air restaurant right on the side of the road, where traffic passes by, the kitchen is in full view, and the food comes out hot—literally. One of our dishes was served with a flame underneath to keep the soup boiling, something you don’t see every day.

This is real Thai dining: casual, open, and full of flavor. No fancy setup, just a local spot where people stop to eat, talk, and enjoy authentic Thai food the way it’s meant to be experienced. From the atmosphere to the bold flavors, this roadside restaurant delivered an unforgettable meal.

If you’re curious about authentic Thai food, open-air roadside restaurants, or what everyday dining in Thailand is really like, this video gives you a genuine look at it all.

  1. Yes, not expected, but always good leave a small tip. Noone will be offended, but will appreciate the gesture.Enjoying watching you, and April explore.

  2. Food always sells. I mentioned months ago that you should go around and present food as a major part of your vlogs. I believe you will be rewarded for this move. Thanks for the showing. Tipping is NOT customary, but if you liked the server why not.

  3. Really enjoying your videos. I like how you and April just walk around and show real day to day life, not hype, not fear, just how things actually are. The apartment, the food, the costs, the travel stories, all of it feels honest and grounded.

I’ve watched a lot of Philippines content and it’s easy to fall into negative loops, but your channel has been a refreshing counterbalance. The way you talk about relationships, family, and just living simply with good energy really comes through.

Appreciate you sharing your life and experiences. I’m definitely learning from it.”
I’m planning time in the Philippines myself, and seeing content like this helps keep things in perspective.”

  4. It's so refreshing to see two kind hearts share new experiences and be grateful for their time together. Enjoy it because life is short…….I know! take care and be safe.

  5. Hi Joe and April 😊
Order BBQ Duck on rice or Pad Kaprao or something
    Joe 👍😊

I watched Gary Butler-The Rooming Cook YouTuber videos made me want to come back to Thailand 🇹🇭 just for Thai food 😊

  6. According to AI…. In Bangkok, tipping isn’t mandatory like in some Western countries, but it’s appreciated for good service. Most restaurants add a ten percent service charge already, so you don’t need to tip extra unless it’s exceptional—maybe just round up the bill. For taxis, drivers usually don’t expect tips, but a small one helps if they go out of their way. Hotels, spas, and guides often get twenty to fifty baht per service. Just keep some small change handy!

  7. That hot pot looks amazing. What is that called? I’ve got a really good Thai restaurant up I-77 near Akron 45 min.

  10. So jealous right now! Been too long! We're loving this adventure for you two! Ours was years ago but eager to return to Philippines and Thailand…and of course, Korea and Japan! HAVE A BLAST Joe and April.😍🤩

to smile but join your happiness 😀❤👍🏼 Thank You

  12. Reminds me of the first time I had pho. They brought all this stuff out to me and I just had this aw shucks confused look on my face. I was the only one in there at the time, the owner was watching me and came and sat down with me and showed me how to mix all the things together. I love trying new stuff and it's fun watching y'all.

  13. My man! Teach April some good ol' WS lingo .'I'm a fixin' to make a mess w these here crabcakes"

  15. Man, we thought you were gonna kiss…💋 That look she had when you were talking about your lips on fire, she looked like she wanted to kiss those lips! 👄

  16. I wait for your new video every day 😂. I wish you had time to make longer or more videos daily. They are very interesting and I enjoy watching you two.

  17. Joe I’ve got to say that Thailand looks a lot better than Then the PI. Cleaner, more professional and I haven’t seen a beggar. I’ll bet if you went out of town you could find a neighborhood that would offer a really nice place for prices closer to the prices around Dumagatti. My wife is Filipina but if I was looking for a country in Asia to relocate it would be Thailand.

  18. I've lived here in Thailand almost 4 years. A US transplant. Street food and restaurants are the best. What I could not believe was your first meal in Bangkok was a Japanese restaurant!
