  1. carne asada fries made with quality ingredients just don’t hit the same as the cheap taco shop version, and even then everyone has their fav taco shop

  2. … sous vide for 24 hours? this isn’t a disc it’s respect for the game and a question. Bro, how is that worth it!

  3. Chuck shouldve been cooked at atleast 160f and higher to allow for the collagen to breakdown

  4. So the word asada means roasted or grilled none the components were grilled or roasted so those are just loaded fries

  5. Asada fries usually have small pieces of marinated steak that are individually seared (not one large steak that is sliced after cooking). But looks delicious either way. I like a simple tomatillo salsa verde with carne asada. Also, those portions are massive; are you bulking right now or eating OMAD?

  6. “If the meat is good all you need is salt” is fine advice for a steak and that’s about it. If you want carne asada you gotta marinade your meat😂

  7. I don’t care if it “counts” as a Mexican dish or not, that looks delicious and I want some. Also, I hate rice in my burrito, it’s just filler. Same when they put fries or potatoes, the ratio is almost always off. You’re presented with a huge egg/sausage/carne burrito and most of it is rice/fries/potatoes. If I wanted a rice burrito, I would have ASKED for a rice burrito.

  8. Asar in Mexico is to fire grill, but for some reason the English translation is to roast. If you look it up in Spanish you get this: Make a food edible by the direct action of fire, or that of heated air, sometimes spraying it with fat or some liquid.
I can imagine that the sous vide made it super tender, but I would hit that with a torch or fire grill to get that “Asada” flavor. Last resort…liquid smoke.
Asada fries are not just a San Diego thing, in Mexico we have something called antojitos (literally translates to cravings). We make all sorts of crazy snacks, including papas fritas preparadas. But they are more common along the border because of the Mexican-American fusion. That is also how flour tortillas came about.

  9. You're broke bro it's alright we are all a little broke right now bro but we will prevail and create new struggles meals the masses will love to steal!

  10. My Mexican family has ever only salted the the meat with a good sea salt. My dad has a marinade he uses recently but he learned it from a friend. Where my family is from, carne asada is just good meat, salted.

  11. So asada just means like grilled/roasted. But if you want the Hispanic flavor you go for cumin, smoked paprika, chicken tomato bouillon (knorrs duhh) and your prefered pepper are a good way to start getting into seasoning like a Hispanic. Best hack is to find a good Mexican grocery store that you like cause they usually sell things already marinated! Also bro what ARE you

  12. Asada Fries is NOT A MEXICAN REGIONAL DISH do not listen to the No sabo grown children that never lived in MX they only visit not the same thing. Asada Fries isba Cali-Mex dish however you make it is the right way this comes from a Mexican that actuallys lives in MX

  13. Burritos are more of a pocho cuisine, like carne asada fries too, not authentic mexican food, but mexican food nonetheless!
I love fusions, specially mexican/asian and americanized mexican food!
If you want the real thing, just come to mexico, every state makes almost the same thing on their own style
Those fries you made look really bomb! I would change the cotija cheese for something more melty, but it still looks delicious!
You got it going on, brother!❤

  14. Where's the free-jo-lays my guy it goes light layer of beans then cheese preferably shredded not that nacho shit out the can. Then actual carne asada ribeye or skirt steak crema pico de gallo I dont do guacamole cause im allergic yes i know it sucks

  15. first I was like meh, but after seeing what you did, it looked good. I'm A San Diegan living in Japan and can only wish I could find tomatillos and some other ingredients you used. Only thing I would have done different is cut the meat pieces smaller.

  16. I’d still eat it but realistically the move would’ve been to cut the meat into smaller pieces to make it easier to consume

  17. No cream? What the…. Best parts, ohh you added to the sauce. As long as theres salsa, its mexican
