  1. For those still wondering, konyac is root vegetable that's processed into a gelatinous substance from which noodles and cakes and whatnot are created. The texture is kiiiiinda like a spring gummy buckwheaty kind of thing or like a mushroomy texture. Depends on the application. It sounds weird but it's really good. I usually have the noodles in sukiyaki and the cakes in oden. Definitely give them a try, as the flavor is pretty neutral and it's mostly a nutritional and texture thing.

  2. Your comment about the English menu makes me curious. From your presentation in English but your knowledge of Japanese, you come across as fluent in both. Is your background in English, but you learned Japanese and moved there? Or are you native to japan but learned English to make your videos more widespread? Food brings us all together, but I am curious how you think the โ€œfood tourโ€ experience might be for someone who is fluent in Japanese versus someone who is translating as they go. Iโ€™d love to visit and try many of these restaurants one day, but my language learning is not going as well as I had hoped, so I worry i wonโ€™t get a full experience. Of course, miscommunication and language barriers are a part of life, so even if I donโ€™t fully understand it will be a good experience, but still, I wonder. Thanks for these videos, they always make me so hungry and jealous!

  3. I always enjoy the calming lofi ratatouille music in the background. I think itโ€™s ratatouille at least.

  4. Can't believe we're already so close to the next goal of 100. Can't wait for the intro change again, it's like an anime getting a new opening in the second half
