First comment, love your videos as always. Thanks for the detailed review of Xcel, looks like I should stick to Ascent or other edge classes 😂 the additional suites is not a good idea, it will definitely make Luminae and lounge not as desirable as it should have been or aka exclusivity. Thanks John and Louie.
On Xcel in June. I will skip Mosaic. As we are plain eaters aswell. But great video guys
Great video guys. We were on Celebrity Edge a couple of months ago, and to be honest the food in the main dining rooms was of such high quality, that we didn't feel the need to splash out on speciality dining. In fact, most of the speciality venues were practically deserted on our sailing, and the crew were offering heavy discounts to entice passengers, sometimes in excess of 60% off!
Maybe it's just an Australian thing? 🤔
In Mosaic, it wasn't that they didn't have tables, there was an obvious shortage of Del Monte cream corn…
Think we’ll stick with Bora in March and pass on Mosaic, although the crab cake looked scrumptious! Enjoyed the vid, as always. 😀
I hope @celebritycruises see this video. Mosaic seems to be a bit of a fail going by the reviews I’ve seen so far. And the customer service experience around the reservation process seems to be particularly bad. Am on xcel in June, will be giving this a wide berth.
I have no idea what Celebrity is doing with that price point beyond seeing what the market can bear. We will be enjoying the original iteration of Eden (as well as Rooftop Grill – our favorite) while on Apex next month. We also utilized the 3 meal dining package to save (minimal) dollars. I’m sure we will miss the Del Monte experience!
Thank you for the review, was wondering what you thought. BTW, the puppy wants to go outside
Thanks for another great video…. $95 each? That’s to much was the champagne included? I didn’t see what bottle you ordered…. Im not a fan of creamed corn
Love watching you both! My hubby and I are cruising on Xcel at the end of March and I booked Bora for brunch and dinner based off of your reviews! I was thinking of booking Mosaic for dinner and will most likely keep thinking….. 🙂 Thanks and keep up the great videos!
Love the view but I think I could pass on that menu.
I find the newer Edge-class ships to be more like Royal Caribbean: loud, crowded, and with few relaxation places. Eden was one of the few, and so was the Spa Cafe. Both are now gone on the Xcel.
lol we think alike. I won't even get into the price of the dinner as the Canadian price is horrifying. I'll try most things once but the menu was uninspiring, I won't say the service was bad but different than what I experienced with Le Voyage the night before where I had questions on two appetizers they said get both, this one didn't get that (which is fine, just a comparison). I had amuse bouche was a little odd I would have rather the pea puree than what I had (some rolled up meat with a puree), the yellowfin ceviche (ok), the pork lechon (dry) I think for dessert I had like a rum cake which I didn't finish. After when they brought out the petite fours and I asked if it can be sent to my room I had done this with Eden before where later they left it in the room on a plate wrapped, here they wrapped it in foil as a 'to go bag'. It was a little disappointing for the price to be given a aluminium foil wrapped to go bag it was a little tacky. I chatted with another person who does youtube videos while on board, his experience there wasn't great either. Trying to be optimistic that maybe in Europe it would be better. But I wouldn't do it again for that price
❤️ the episode. Seems like I could make the cream cord ravioli with mushrooms at home , for about five dollars. Had I ever thought of it .
Agree with you guys! Dinner at Bora was our most favorite meal of the Xcel cruise. Mosaic was meh, a pale comparison to Eden. Glad I could have the crabcake. Thanks for a great video. Jack
Enjoyed watching you guys! But the food? Art over substance IMHO. The view is amazing, but not worth the up charge and those pesky lines waiting for an empty table 😉
$95! These extra pay restaurants are getting silly.
CON CORN! 😂🌽
“A little creamed corn goes a long way.” Classic John! 😂
This Maryland lad wants that crab cake soooooo bad!
Absolutely LOVE you two. My question: Excel or Beyond?
You made me laugh. Corn ravioli – they have lost their minds.
