Mexico City! Tourist in my Own Hometown (Churros & Tacos, too) | Pati Jinich | Pati’s Mexican Table

I’m returning to the magical city where I grew up and I’m taking you with me! In this episode, I’m playing tourist in my own hometown meeting historian Erika Zúñiga to trace the city’s history from Templo Mayor to Bellas Artes, with a stop for churros at the legendary El Moro. Then we go inside one of the busiest markets in the world, Central de Abastos, famous Mexican TV journalist Enrique Acevedo. It’s early so we stop for the “breakfast of champions” — must eat tacos at the Taquería San Judas in the heart of the market. So you can get a taste, I recreate those tacos in my kitchen, plus a family favorite churro-inspired coffee cake with dulce de leche.
