How does Europe bring Putin to the table? | Ex-MI6 Chief Sir Richard Moore
What next for Iran? Did MI6 know about Peter Mandelson’s past with Epstein? How does Europe bring Putin to the negotiating table?
When he left his job in 2025, the former head of MI6 Sir Richard Moore said that he didn’t think he’d left the world in a better place than when he was first appointed in 2020. But a lot has happened since he took the position.
Moore has served two monarchs, four prime ministers, five deputy prime ministers and six foreign secretaries. He was also in charge of the security service when Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, when Trump returned to the White House, and during the upheaval in the Middle East with the war in Gaza.
In this episode of The World podcast, Yalda Hakim asks him about the vetting of Peter Mandelson, how the war in Ukraine might end, and the new world order including China and the US.

Being a spy must be difficult Sir Mendelson didn't explain ☺️@TheWorldwithRichardandYalda
A series of progressively stupid questions. There is no point in bringing Putin to the negotiating table. Nothing he would agree to would bring peace or be worth anything. No matter how much the political establishment wishes it so.
Seeing as the SIS is joined at the hip with the CIA and the Mossad, probably an awful lot.
MI6 is just another criminal gang.
If Putin starts to feel pressure, he may go all in and commit a large scale atrocity. He will want to die as a hero whose name is written in the history books of the Russian empire in bold letters, not as someone who appears weak or concerned about people or the wider world 🤷♂ simple slavic logic
From this interview, I learned nothing new. But I found it a useful, enlightening check as to what I think I know about current geopolitics. The nice quotables: "…our job was to steal secrets, not to solve mysteries." 27:25 "…[Y]ou're in a sort of fog of pre-war…." 30:18
Europe has nothin to do with Pu.. russia is not of brits business
Yalda is so beautiful.
Get him to the table about what?
FFS just leave Russia alone.
Found this interview very uninformative. So much so needed to understand the objectives of the series of questions, if any?. Now appreciate it is for the tabloid viewership
Why did Zelensky join MI6? And how can one trust MI6, an organization that was engaged in subversive activities against Russia in Ukraine? This man is directly responsible for the conflict. Why is he even being interviewed???
