New York’s Mexican Food is the best in the Country: F*ck, That’s Delicious

F*ck, That’s Delicious returns with the first of three episodes dedicated to showing the world that Mexican cuisine in New York City is unmatched by any other city in the United States. In this episode, Action visits five restaurants that are solidifying this idea. We start things off in Brooklyn with a visit to Taqueria Ramirez, a Mexico City-style taqueria specializing in suadero, longaniza, campechano, tripa, pastor, and nopales. After sampling all the tacos, we visit Hellbender in Ridgewood, Queens. This is where chef Yara Herrera has made quite a name for herself by doing her own takes on fried Oaxacan cheese, a seasonal chamoy, and crispy lamb shoulder. Next, we head to Los Burritos Juárez for true border-style burritos filled with the craziest braises and beans. This is also the point in the episode where we are joined by Conner Burks and the Fight Feas/Boys in the Back crew. Action then leads the group to Esse Taco, where chef Milton Rivera made us everything from a wagyu steak frites taco to carrot soup. What could possibly cap off an episode like this? Well, that would be Santo Taco’s epic steak trompo tacos with salsa verde, followed by push-ups. ¡Buen provecho!

  1. Look, I'm sure he believes that, but the truth is the best Mexican food is where the Mexican people live, and that's in pretty much all the states that border Mexico, but especially California and Texas. These states have had large Mexican populations since the time before this country was called the USA. Best Mexican food I've had is in the Bay Area, California, and the entire Greater Los Angeles area. Taquerias are on every other block; people don't only eat a lot of Mexican food there, they know what good Mexican food actually tastes like. Is there one or two Mexican restuarants that are bomb in NYC? I'm sure there is, but over in California, there are 10,000 amazing taquerias. I stand on this.
