Never thought I would see you in my part of town, South East London. I always point people visiting London to Maltby Street Market, so much more chilled than Borough! There are also loads of Breweries under the arches, The Bermondsey Beer Mile is well worth checking out, if you like that type of thing!
Why do you need a table to eat? We brits just eat on the go 😂
Borough Market is pricy but you do not get a bad bite there. It varies what day you go there. IMO Friday is the best, Saturday and Sunday have more things but it is so busy it's hard to move. The Triple Cooked Chips can usually be found in most pubs that sell food.

You're supposed to have pie & mash with liquor not gravy. That's where the pies come into their own with the chilli vinegar. Gravy isn't traditional in London with pie & mash 🙂
