The World’s Number One Chef Rene Redzepi of Noma Accused of Abuse & His $1,500 LA Dinner in 3 Days
René Redzepi, founder of Noma — ranked #1 in the world five times by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants — has been accused by 35 former employees of years of physical and psychological abuse. A New York Times investigation published March 7, 2026 includes accounts of punching, slamming staff against walls, and threatening to blacklist workers internationally. His $1,500-per-person pop-up dinner in Los Angeles begins March 11th.
At least one of his direct protégés later faced the same abuse allegations at his own restaurant. Sources: New York Times (Julia Moskin, March 7, 2026).
