Bro prices for everything have sky rocketed! I remember when NYC had $1 slice pizza π₯
The original "Ray's" was on 11th st and 6th ave on the NW corner. Long since closed every Ray's now does not compare to the original.
I feel like tourist trap only applies to restaurants that scam you in some way….
You should do a reverse on this concept of … Is this for New York Snobs π
When I was in NYC so many New Yorkers would recommend places and it was more NYC Snobs who think they know food, but never left NY so they had nothing to compare it to.
Ummmm like 95% of the pizza recommendations ππ
But do the twist. The reverse
Gallaghers lunch special is solid usaly get it a few times year. Last year it was 25 now its 30 but still a solid meal.
If the food is good, it is not a tourist trap – that is my definition. Places can be touristy but unless they are charging high prices for bad food then it is not a trap.
Saying can I do when ordering makes you sound like a tourist and kinda stupid and rude.
A this a repost? I swear Iβve seen this before
Also not sure about now but Serendipity was on E 60th Street between 2nd and 3rd near Bloomingdale's – much less touristy than Times Square
Go to Katz early morning or to the branch in Brooklyn.
Felt so sorry for you for the first pizza, but great that you finished on a good one! And Jon, you are 41?! You look so young!!
Jon, that was fun. Thank you
The real original Ray's Pizza which was in the Village on 6th Ave, hasn't been around since the late 80s or early 90s I think. The remaining ones with the name have it through some kind of convoluted court battle Can't believe tourists are going there.
Chrishotdogstands did this first!
I still like my 1.50 pizza
Where you been Jon Barr π€ π
I hope you do another underappreciated spots video.
You didnt get a margarita at margaritaville?
That chocolate cake sundae looked massive, my sweet tooth would be celebrating for days. π
But why go to NY anyway..
Swerve the time out place and try Dumbo Market, really nice sandwiches and a ridiculous choice of drinks, then somewhere to sit and eat as well
We stayed at the Element Times square West– and I was glad to find this nice little ramen place on side street a block or 2 away that was much more of local vibes and very reasonable.
Itβs 28 dollars for a sandwich itβs a trap no matter which way you slice the pastrami
coming again on the 27th of march and we are deffo going to give Gallagher's a go ….thanks Jon
Ray's sux! Katz's is the truth
Wait people eat at TimeOut market?? I just thought people went their for the free clean public restrooms
Shameless ad selling out info in the middle of the video. Shame on you.
cmon man, how many ads are you and youtube going to show us? 2 at the start, then you through your sponsored ad at 6 min into the video, right after 2 more youtube ads, not even 6 mins in.
I might get hate for this but as a European I think USA especially New York is a tourist trap imho.
Montreal bagels are way better than nyc.
Itβs not even close.
The ice cream place looked very pladticy everything looked incredibly processed and low quality.
But I feel like plastic whip cream might be the norm in the USA, not sure!
Fun video Jon. Any reason you're wearing a lint covered oversized Yankees hat all of the time? Lol
Gallaghers steak, LFG!
I love Gallagher's, and so do out-of-town family members I bring here for lunch. You can't beat that lunch deal. As for Margaritaville, you won't catch me dead in one of those places, but those nachos actually looked OK, and enough to feed two. So you could do a lot worse in Times Square.
I must say having visited all these places as a tourist, I agree with you Jon 100% on the list.
