3 Chatham Food Stops That Nearly Broke Me

Today I hit three food stops around Chatham, Ontario — and each one tried harder than the last to take me out. Started with a sub sandwich at Kent Bridge Country Market, rolled straight into a mountain of diner food at Shady Pine, and finished at Park’s Blueberries where the baked goods do not play around.

If you love small‑town food gems, massive portions, and watching one man make increasingly questionable decisions, this is the tour for you.

Featuring:
• Kent Bridge Country Market – fresh subs, baked goods, local favourites
• Shady Pine Family Restaurant – classic diner plates and huge portions
• Park’s Blueberries – legendary baked goods and iconic blueberry treats

I film everything exactly as it is — real food, real people, real Ontario spots worth supporting. Thanks for riding along.

  1. Dave that's two meals with a little salad 🙂 or a meal for two !
I prefer your videos when you go on location and film yourself eating :

  2. A large sandwich at firehouse is like 20 and a footlong at subway is easily 15. That sandwich you got was stuffed with meat and cheese, looks like a great value to me.

  3. Hey Dave! Glad you’re making your way down here! You hit some great spots, but there’s so many more. The subs at the market are lowkey the best around here.

  4. Hey Dave! You’re in my neck of the woods! Would have loved to see you out and about ! Try Union Block Bakery in Dresden sometime ! And Pinells in Ridgetown. Both serve lunch and baked goods. We enjoy your channel. 👍🏼👍🏼

  5. Knew you had to go to Parks. You can’t avoid it, and this time of year they also have their Own Strawberries(not frozen) which are 👍👍

  6. That sub was much larger then Subways and it looked hundreds times better. Anyone who thinks that sub isn't worth the money should go hungry. I can't wait to stop there on my way to Wallaceburg.

  7. Awesome Dave you were in my neck of the woods. The Track and Burns in Dresden are great. Big Chief, Black Goose, Glasstown in Wallaceburg are great.

  8. Funny note: Subway in Ireland, Buns cannot be called Bread..too high sugar content..cake😂 That was several years ago, don't know if it still applies.

  9. The meat is local at Kent Bridge Country Market. Made in Chatham at Schinkel's Legacy. Please come back to Wallaceburg Big Dave!! 🙂

  10. First off Big Dave I could tell looking at it that was homemade gravy and you know I love me some good gravy ! Have to say that even thou nothing was cheap at all three places they all looked like value anyway. Homemade with generous portions is worth the money when you gotta pay $15 to eat at Mc Deaths ….lol Really like these videos a lot, keep the small places coming Big Dave much better then any chain ever is.

  11. Come on Dave grilled cheese ! You can make that at home why buy it ? You certainly like your desserts but I think that was overkill ! Btw you forgot to get a coke zero !

  12. That sub is worth every penny of $15…4 meats, great bread, your choice of cheese….Love that place!

  13. I have been to Parks Blueberry’s many times. I really enjoy having lunch there. Their baked goods are hard to resist. Everything I have had there was delicious. I will have to try out the other two places you went to.

  14. If you have never tried Big Chief in Wallaceburg I would give it a go. Try out the Large Marge.
