Loaded it all into his van.
And drove to the nearest homeless shelter.
He set up a full dinner service
in the shelter dining room.
Served every person there himself.
The last plate went out at 2 AM.
He sat down alone at an empty table.
A shelter resident walked over.
Placed a plate in front of him.
And sat across from him.
They ate together in silence.
