100 g | sugar |
500 ml | grape juice |
5 | cloves |
1 | bay leaf |
1 piece | star anise |
10 | juniper berries |
1 stick | cinnamon |

Wine Tip
Vanilla crescent cookies
The warming spices in the mulled wine go hand in hand with the wonderful vanilla flavor of these small cookies.
Step 1
Roughly chop orange and lemon.

1 orange / 1 lemon
Step 2
Caramelize sugar in a large saucepan and deglaze with grape juice. Stir until caramel is dissolved.

100 g sugar / 500 ml grape juice
Step 3
Add chopped citrus fruit, cloves, bay leaf, star anise, juniper berries, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil and let simmer over low heat for approx. 10 – 15 min.

Step 4
Add red wine, gently warming it up for approx. 5 min. Do not boil, as this would burn off the alcohol in the wine.
