growing up a lot of us have heard people say don’t play with your food but I disagree when kids interact with Foods it helps them explore a variety of textures flavors colors and fun food can encourage trying new foods so today I’m making an arts and crafts theme lunch for my daughter starting with a puzzle sandwich I used a piece of whole grain bread and sourdough so we have different color puzzle pieces and we always eat the leftover scraps next I’m making a paint palette I’m using thinly sliced hikma wraps as the palette first I’m cutting a variety of fruit into circles I save the scrap for yogurt bowls or smoothies who make the palette I’m carefully cutting out a tapered shape from the hikma wrap and adding the thumb hole where paint brushes would typically go adding this to the plate and topping it with the fruit that’s meant to resemble different colors of paint and now we have a cute paint palette we can’t have paint without paint brushes so next I’m slicing a string cheese in half then cutting into pieces to carefully make slices that resemble a brush and adding these two pretzel sticks to make little paint brushes that of course I had to test out now I’m adding vanilla yogurt and a few drops of blue red and green naturally Colored food dye I use a skewer to make swirls mixing the colors to make a fun tiey effect that my daughter can continue mixing with her spoon As a treat I’m making a candy bracelet for the string you can use sour candy strings or licorice laces but I always use dentl floss and Olive makes the bracelet herself and it’s safe for her to eat off of I’m adding naturally colored fruity cereal O’s and peach rings and that’s a fun arts and crafts themed lunch let me know what theme you want to see next
