Primitive Village Cooking | No Oven Chicken & Simple Fire Bread
In this episode, Sareh and Negin use their traditional skills to prepare a unique and ancient village dish using nothing but fire, stone, and patience 🌫️🔥
Using small river stones, they build a handmade stone oven inside a large pot. The stones are heated slowly over fire, creating the perfect environment for slow-cooking chicken the traditional way — no oven, no stove, just natural heat and time.
The chicken is carefully stuffed with a local Loonagi-style filling made from walnuts, onions, pomegranate seeds, and sour plum paste, then placed on the hot stones to cook gently and evenly. Potatoes are also added on the stones, absorbing the heat and natural flavors.
While the fire burns beneath the pot, traditional bread is baked along the inner walls of the pot, making this one of the oldest and most authentic rural cooking methods still practiced today.
Beyond cooking, real village life continues:
• Newborn lambs are gently fed milk 🐑
• Livestock are cared for with love
• Fresh milk is turned into homemade yogurt
• A fresh village salad is prepared with cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes, and herbs
• The village morning begins with a hearty breakfast of local milk and oily flatbread
The air is completely foggy, wrapping the village in silence and calm, turning this day into a true moment of slow living and harmony with nature.
