Is this THE peak of Australian Italian seafood fine dining? | Ormeggio at the Spit, Sydney
SYDNEY EATS | Ormeggio at the Spit, Mosman
Light Mosman shade aside (because let’s be real, you DO need to be dedicated to venture out all that way, especially if you’re a tourist), it’s hard to fault Ormeggio at the Spit for delivering exactly what it promises: Australia-Italian fine dining with a seafood focus, local, seasonal produce packed with flavours, excellent and very considerate staff, beautiful waterfront views on the marina and just a perfect idyllic summer afternoon. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t normally gravitate towards seafood.
If you want the truly local Sydney waterfront dining experience and are willing to venture beyond the CBD, this will be much calmer, less touristy experience. Bookmark this for your next special experience – anniversary, date night, birthday or celebration.
I did find that the menu was richer than expected and definitely designed with wine in mind – a dessert may have honestly cut through some of the richness but we were also SO full even just from ordering a la carte.
