They all get the same food from Sysco trucks. Frozen garbage that is microwaved and charged top dollar!
My sister and I had a very bad experience at the Bloor & Royal York Swiss Chalet location a couple of years ago. That particular location had always been well-managed until the mid 2000s. Management changed more than once, long time staff members were dismissed. During our last visit, we found that this location appeared somewhat neglected, but we stayed and ordered our food.
We should have left. Both of us were ill that day. We never returned to that location. I reported the issue to Swiss chalet's head office but never heard back. I recently visited their website online to find that their rating was three stars and many complaints were listed.
I am not certain how well our citie's health inspectors are doing their job at that particular location. But I am not about to set foot there again.

Calling kitchen staff Cooks for opening packages and reheating them in a microwave is not exactly what I would call a Cook!!! And then they charge you way more than the Toxic Garbage is worth and expect a 20% tip on top!!! Yea I'll make my own food at home thanks with Real Ingredients and care!!!😎😎😎
We don't go to restaurants. Basically, they all suck and are way overpriced. And the tipping issue. Christ. We tried Boston Pizza many years ago, it sucked bad.

BINGO! At 13:15 The Keg. I was the President of Arch Air Conditioning Inc. and in 1989 I started taking care of one Keg, their Airport Road location. I recommended health conscious maintenance programs on the Walk-In-Freezers/Coolers/Ice Machines/ all Exhaust Systems/ all gas fired fire places, Heating, Make Up Air, and all Roof top HVAC Units. From 1 location to 23 locations in South Ontario, the GTA. Staff would come out and say, we never could seat people in those sections because the HVAC never worked, what did you do? The Keg… best company to work with, fair, did not seek out the cheapest contractors… and paid their bills 30 days from approval like clock work. LOVE The Keg. Now semi retired, stand up comedy and writing.

The Keg is a joke, last time I was there it was a 1 1/2 hr wait, we sat down, ordered and our food arrived in 5 mins!! The steak was barely warm and rock hard, guaranteed it was under a heat lamp for hours before we arrived! Pay the extra money and go to a higher end steakhouse!!
Swiss Chalet standards vary widely. The eastern location in Newmarket is radically different from the location on Yonge Street in Newmarket. I have seen and reported many issues with the one on the eastern side of Newmarket…..NEVER AGAIN!! Screaming at frontline staff within earshot of consumers ETC.
The Keg is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Worth every penny

ever since. The food is good, and I have never seen cockroaches, which
are a common sight in Toronto restaurants !
The keg is a lovely treat but it’s very expensive. We only go there for special occasions.
Don't like hearing how things like soup or entrees sit on the stove all day, but I do understand about meats being frozen and fried or prepared as they are ordered by customers. How else could a fast food restaurant operate? You couldn't possibly order in fresh meat everyday and know how much you would need. There would be waste or not enough ordered to satisfy the demand. Either way, it would be mean losses the franchise couldn't afford. Levels of cleanliness should, of course, be a part of training for any new staff and there should be daily reminders in hand washing and keeping surfaces and floors cleaned regularly.
I would have liked Moxie's rated. The Keg is my go to. Consistent and high quality. Professionals and not a bunch of kids. I like the lower light setting and less noise.
Anything good costs more. Anybody looking for cheap and good involving steaks is not going to find it.
I know a cattle rancher and only the best steaks go to the Keg.

Let’s face it… you can get sick eating at any restaurant, as you can from eating at home…but on average, the Keg maintains its loyal clientele through being consistently good.
