Fake ass story.
Labor law CAN.
Lawmakers just WONT.
There is a difference. That is subtle propaganda, intentional or not.
cool story and all, but as the owner, all he really has to do is stop accepting checks. He will lose exactly $0 in business because of that. Now, as for losing business because the reason he stops accepting checks is so he can steal from his employees? yes, he absolutely will, even in this made up scenario.
Smart move
I just give the servers the tips in cash.
That's illegal 😳 😤
😂😂😂😂that's great!!!!😅
me no you want then one he did take them i had friends come in and film him take the tips . then i sent the video to a lawyer he contacted the home office and let them know that he was setting up a large lawsuit against the mange for stealing tips from the workers . it took about 2 weeks then the ceo of the company came in and the manager was like big time kiss ass but he later found out that he had be found out about the tip theft and that he had tried to deposit personel checks . then the workrs said we always got big tips but we never got them tips he kept ver cent of all tips ,he was fied on the spot and the company filed a police report and they did there own investigation ,mean while ceo said we would recieve a bnus check other than our paycheck for the tips that was stolen , mean while he took that weeks tip amount from each day then he took that weeks worht and multiplyed it but 5 times the amount then divivded it amoung the workers who got tips .then we got a new mamager
This is exactly why tipping culture in America is horrible one .. &two .. this is exactly why. America continues to tell restaurants and their employees that they need to beg for tips essentially and still not pay them a little wage….
And they didn't call the police for fraud
I mean after a week or a month of tips in that form, wouldnt you then be able to prove something was going on prior? Or hell most places has cameras pointing at the registers. Could easily show the labor board the videos…
Its also completely taxable unlike cash. Servers want cash so they can say they made little to no money to tax in tips.
I've worked in restaurants a long time, it's EXTREMELY easy to prove when a manager steals tips. There is a 0% chance there are no camera's all over the restaurant, including the office. I've seen dozens of managers go down for stuff caught on cameras. Once more than one person reports tips being stolen, an all out investigation would happen and they would get caught so fast.
You can cash other people's checks it's just not a good idea …they also gotta be endorced by the person atlest in Canada you can you basically become the bank they endorse it to you then you put it in your bank
Why are the employees giving the cash to their boss?
Why not just pocket the cash DIRECTLY from the customer?
Love it!!!!!
And because of the paper trail
You had to pay tax on every tip your loyal customers left 👍
Are the floor in this is you could definitely prove that he’s taking the money. You have to call the labor board to do an audit on the company and they’ll come out and do that audit and check his books. Not only that why aren’t you taking the money off of the tables as soon as the people leave? At any tips that are on credit card is in a database. Which your paychecks would see a great difference of you getting your tips.
The business owner could deposit those checks if the employee/payee endorsed the check over to him. Thats why you never endorse a check until you're at the bank or where you're cashing it. If you sign the check ahead of time & accidentally drop it, whoever picks it up can cash it.
thief.
For the comments saying that they will have to pay tax's on their tips, you are correct. Though 30% to the government is better than 80% to a greedy owner.
here we dont have these issues as much since we pay servers so much they dont have to rely on tips.
tho since a south african company bought our version of doordash they incuded an online tipping service.. :S
i hate tipps just pay your ppl enough.
I would get evidence and a lawyer.
People still have check books? I haven’t written a check in a decade
Shit how you need tips to live. That is the land of the free for you!
Were they working at Amy's Baking Company. They did just that. Gordon Ramsey had 2 episodes about these aweful people
Who is bringing their checkbook to dinner in the big 26?
