For years, we were told about “Turkish–Greek hostility,” but let’s not forget this: the past is the past. Now it’s time to think with reason, not hatred with humanity, not anger. Turks have always been kind; Greeks are the same. We are two peoples who have sat at the same table, listened to the same melodies, and looked at the same sea. I really tried many times in my life to be friends with Greeks (im Turkish). Every time i tried i stumbled across something that eventually broke it up. Not going to lie, because ive genuinly tried i dont feel sad about it. Where i do feel sad about is that Greeks killed many Turks before the "freedom" of Turkish Cyprus. We dont want to be enemies, what has happened has happened and this guy (Ertan) showed that we can get along (eventho there is some benefit in it, but i do genuinly think that without any benefit it would have worked too in some different way). I hope this feeds less hate towards Turks in Greece and that we may pick our own Imams and that our schools and mosques in Greece will get more freedom in the future so a better friendship can be build. I’m not an native English speaking man, ive tried to say many things but this has genuinly touched me and i got messed up in my head. But im so touched and so happy that some Turk has managed to do what ive tried to do for many many years as a Turkish citizen. Thank you Ertan, thank you the son of the family restaurant and thank you Greek family for making my eyes glitter. 🇹🇷❤️🇬🇷
