LEARN HOW TO MAKE AN EASY VEGETARIAN / VEGAN PAD THAI RECIPE TO ENJOY TODAY!
LAY HO MA (How’s it going in Cantonese)! Join me in this episode and learn how to cook up a quick and delicious Pad Thai noodles recipe today! Let’s begin!
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 red onion
70g broccolini
1/2lb smoked tofu
1/2 carrot
35g Chinese chives
2 tbsp tamarind paste
1 tsp lime juice
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 red Thai chili pepper
1/4lb rice vermicelli
1 tbsp avocado oil
50g bean sprouts
2 tbsp crushed roasted peanuts
2 lime wedges
few sprigs cilantro
DIRECTIONS:
1. Bring a pot of water to boil for the noodles. Thinly slice the red onion. Chop down the broccolini into bite sized pieces. Slice the smoked tofu. Slice the carrot into thin matchsticks. Chop the Chinese chives into about 1.5 inch batons
2. Prep the sauce by combining the tamarind paste, lime juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, and a finely chopped red Thai chili pepper
3. Place the rice vermicelli into a baking dish or heat proof container. Pour in the boiling water and submerge the noodles. Allow the noodles to soak for 3-5mins. Move the noodles a little bit using chopsticks to prevent them from sticking together
4. Heat up a nonstick pan to medium heat. Add in the avocado oil followed by the red onions. Sauté for about 2mins. Add in the broccolini and smoked tofu. Sauté for another 2 mins. Add in the carrots and sauté for another minute. Add in the rice vermicelli, bean sprouts, Chinese chives, and the sauce. Sauté for a couple of minutes
5. Plate the noodles and garnish with crushed roasted peanuts, a couple of lime wedges, and some fresh cilantro

Oh boy! I make this recipe from your cookbook ALL THE TIME! It's so good and so simple! It beats any restaurant Pad Thai!
Hi darling. You’ve featured a smoked tofu as has many other plant-based chefs I’ve noticed on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube however I cannot seem to find that in the states or anywhere. Where do you find smoked tofu as I’ve also checked various oriental markets near me in Florida.
I can just smell that Pad thai through the screen 😁😋❤️
Pad Thai is my favorite Asian dish. There's just something about how the noodles soak up the tangy slightly sweet sauce…..so yummy.
❤ this.
Thank you for contributing to a better world with every dish you make. <3
Very good. Why is it there’s no link or mention of the music. Often YouTube slaps and copyright infringement on ppls videos if they don’t get permission for a song etc unless it’s copyright free music
Very Yummy!
As always, you are the best. I love this dish. I love this video. I love the food. I love the music. I love Pad Thai. Thank you. Thank you.
Again, you are simply the best.
This dish looks absolutely delicious and easy to make!! Love how you explained so gracefully!! Soooo visually appealing, all the vibrant colors!! Yummy!! Great video!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe!! 🍜🥰💯👍❤️
Looks so delicious 😊
This recipe looks fantastic! I have all four of your books and love them. Wish I could find smoked tofu, I've never been able to. Thanks Wil for all you do.
Please make a video on Tom Kha soup. Love all your videos & this Pad Thai looks amazing. Do you think it would taste good without the onion because some of us have acid reflux and can’t have onions sadly. And I love onions…they just don’t love me. I could try using little chives.
Can I use potato noodles (glass noodles) instead ?
Beautiful. Thank you
Love your cooking , looks Delicious thanks
Wait! No black t-shirt?!?!?
Looks delicious, my mouth is watering. Thanks for another excellent recipe. 😃🤩
Wow! A big fan & you’ve done it again! Many thanks for an awesome recipe, Will! Where can I find smoked tofu though? (I live in the US….)
During covid i was bad off. Thats when i found your channel. I watched- dreamed of smelling again – dreamed of standing & cooking again. Kept watching- it took 3 months . The wonderful music ..soothing voice – medium heat- Thank you Will for the yummy beauty. .. healing. ❤
Hopefully better then when Gordon Ramsay made pad thai for the thai chef and his facial expression gave the review 😂😂
Looks delicious 🤤
Yum. What puts me off making it at home is the big bags bean sprouts come in. I need more ideas for using them all up in the short time they are ok to eat
I never, ok, rarely eat Pad Thai at restaurants because it's always yucky. I can't wait to make and try this. I trust any recipe coming from YMCooking so am looking forward to making it soon. I'll try to report back. 😋
This ain't Pad Thai at all ! Heretic !
Please stop teaching how to cook Pad Thai or any vegan Pat Thai or whatsoever westerners Pad Thai style ! I grew up with a Thai nanny. I've been taught Thai cooking from her and her family. She was married to a Thai with Chinese fathers. I am a part of their family I've bee taught westerners (German, Italian, Austrian, French) by my Mom and my Father. Then I'm pretty sure you understand that I've been adopted by Thai culture. All of them are elders. We never put carrots in Thai food ! You missed all key ingredients but adding unnecessary ones. As you introduces yourself, you are not a professional chef !
You should teach your culture to westerners, teach them the real Lawei Chao Fan instead of that fried rice mixed with bacon, ham, eggs, carrots, green peas, corn ! Because of your kind of guy (youtubers, ignorants, instagram travellers, instragram chefs, instagram specialists) it is really annoying to see Pad Thai in some of Chinese restaurants or Thai restaurants held by Chines people, we don't know whether it is a failed Chow Mein !
China has so many different culture, so many dishes ! Why not teach it ?!
Which of your books has this recipe?
