I love all of it: gyudon, ramen, gyoza… Matsuya and Yoshinoya were my go-to "fast food" lunch places while I was studying in Kyoto. But the best ramen was served at small, independent restaurants.
Matsuya also runs Matsunoya, a tonkatsu restaurant chain. It's pretty good for fast, cheap, mediocre tonkatsu. The shop near me is always bustling
