omg iβve been a long-time (silent) filipino viewer of you, amy! and it warms my heart watching you take a trip to the philippines and try out our food. im from manila too, and it really is the center of filipino cuisine if you want to get a starter pack to the filipino flavors because there are just so many variety of foods here! heck, iβve been living here for my whole 26 years of life but i canβt even say iβve truly gone around the whole entirety of metro manila and eaten every single food there is. not to mention that thereβs even more variety of cuisine once you get outside metro manila.

Very nice to see your experiences on food in Manila. A place of which I have quite a few very happy and good culinary memories of. You highlighted them in your own very unique way. The food from Mindanao comes closer imho to the food from Indonesia (Sulawesi) where my father came from. I recognise some resemblance there. Thanks Amy for this video which shows other food cultures then the always fantastic Chinese foods you are treating us with. π

I had an all nighter and was about to sleep now (8am), but i saw this video and watched the whole thing.. now I'm h.u.n.g.r.y. Maybe a bad move for someone about to sleep.. π hahahaha I want everything you ate (except for the vinegar and shrimp paste, those 2 are my enemies π ) just my preference. Filipino shrimp paste is too tangy for my taste but I can eat with sambal (indo or malay) I also miss Rodic's! I live in the province now and there's not a single Rodic's here. I used to go eat at Rodic's in UP Diliman. Anyway, I'm really hungry now but also sleepy. I hope I can still sleep. My tummy is not really hungry but my mind is saying the opposite because I watched your video π

This is a great Filipino cuisine feature because it has the regional dishes that some Filipinos donβt even know of, and youβre not just doing the usual sisig-adobo-lumpia-lechon combo. The only thing I m worried about to be in Philippines is safety. π That's why dare not go. π Most of the food is being alterations of Chinese fuzhou, η¦ε»Ί, Cantonese traditional food. Alteration from Spain and western meals. My opinion only from your adventures video.π.π
Have you heard of the content creator (J.L.A) they 3 are siblings who are Australian but all of their contents are Chinese related stuff and I think they are pretty big in China, they speak Chinese too. The J. L. A, stands for Jasmine, Lachlan, Avaline. They have rednote account too π.
Of course Luzon people will tell you Mindanao is dangerous. But the fact is, most of them NEVER set foot in Mindanao. Funny eh? Those who visited Mindanao changed their minds.
Spaniards avoid Mindanao like a plague because of the PINTADOS, after they discovered Pinas in 1521.
