Not Viral or Fancy But the Food Here is SERIOUS

Some food courts get trendy. Some go viral. And then there are places like this.

This one has been here forever. No hype. No fancy setup. Just a bunch of small spots quietly serving really good food at prices that still make sense.

We came in thinking we’d grab one plate and leave. Instead, we kept finding more things we wanted to try. Big portions. Solid flavors. A mix of Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and more. The kind of place where regulars already know what to order.

If you like old-school SGV plazas, cash-only spots, and meals that actually fill you up without killing your wallet, this is for you.

Let us know what your go-to order is here. We’ll definitely be back to try more.

  1. Thanks for the sharing the clip, I grew up in SoCal, lived there for 30 years before moving to the east coast. I really missed the food there, lived in Rosemead (off on Hellman) for a while then moved to West Covina. Went to San Gabriel high school and that was/is still my hood there, missed it 😍

  2. Thanks for checking out the square. Unfortunately the place I usually get food from, Master Zhou, is the one you didn't visit. A little pricier than others there, but the food is not as sweet as the other places. At the Thai place, I usually get the chinese broccoli with crispy pork. And when you were talking about leeks, I think you showed a picture of garlic chives.

  3. Wow i haven't been there for over 15 years. Funny enough i have family members who live right around the corner there. I will be checking it out again.

  4. Glad you are covering this place. I used to like to get fried rice at the Thai place – might have to go this weekend – haven't bought their food in a few years! Thanks!

  5. The food looks delicious and it's a good deal. Will check it out. Thanks.

BTW, technically, Rosemead is in the SGV.

  6. Lived in Rosemead my entire life and always passed by but never entered, so thank you for showing this! Will definitely be checking this out now

  7. You guys absolutely do not know what Chinese food is . You are eating American Chinese food. For instance, wonton is not supposed to be big and solid. You comments shows that you know nothing about wonton noodle. What you care most are big quantities. Typical ABC style!

  8. harlams kitchen is amazing. Been eating here since I was 5 and im in my 40s. This tells you how long this establishment is.

  9. I live in lancaster nothing out here. That's worth the trip I've been wanting to do a food crawl but can't take all the Los sngled driving around and I had weight loss surgery in 2007 can't eat much and hate wasting hope they have children's plates trying to find a carload of people to take with me

  10. There is a reason the prices are so low…imagine their overhead and profit. You aren’t getting Organic, or Filet Mignonette, but you aren’t getting standard really. If Beef is so much an LB, what quality or cut are they using on YOUR hefty meal. Something to think about.

  11. It's on the corner of garvey and San Gabriel.. the southwest corner of the intersection… There's a center there that sells $2.50 Mega Bao..

I am other(non-asian) .. I am a been eetur and Harlem kitchen satisfies with comfort food…

The food court restaurants are immigrant owned but it's not hard getting past the language barrier… And they are very eager to make recommendations upon request…

This market is located in a plaza.. there's a dim sum place that's very good and affordable..

Again I am "othe"r but everything I have eaten at this establishments is very good…

Please observe asain customs or acquaint yourself with them.. manners go a long way

  12. You guys are local and almost 10k sub. I live in MP so I really love when locals are doing the genuine food reviews. Keep up the great work and it's nice to see doing shoutouts. Subscribed!!!!

Omg. I think I made you guys 10k. As soon as I subbed, you guys turn to 10k. So nice to be a part of.

  13. New Star Thai is awesome. I always go back for the crab fried rice and the drunken noodle. Great portion and good prices.

  14. We went there yesterday with the family and the food was great. Thai was awesome also had the Vietnamese desserts and yummy. Wife ordered the pancakes with wonton soup. Also met and spoke to someone who was there too after watching the video. Overall great place food stalls and prices were reasonable with big portions. Even though we are coming from torrance we'll worth the hour dirve.
