  1. @HowKevEats give these a shot:

-Tj tacos in Escondido for adobada
-la Perla #2 in Pacific Beach for burritos/Oaxacalifornia burrito
-oscars in PB for fish tacos
-craft coast brewery in Oceanside for vibes/al pastor

    Let’s go!

  2. Dude if you people want legit burritos you need to go to Albq. A place like the “Buritto lady.” Just puts these types of places to shame. Not to mention the hatch green Chiles. Cali doesn’t know. Or Portales, NM there’s a dude with a food truck outside a bar there with the best chile rellenos and burritos you’ve ever had

  3. The taco stand has multiple locations threw Orange County you moran smh…. no need to drive to san diego

  4. Jorge's in Encinitas (they've got a couple locations there) was one of my favorites in the day. It's been some years so I can't promise it has remained the same, but they had a good California burrito with something more akin to home fries instead of french fries, they were also known for their chicken soup, and their salsa (which was also good poured in the soup) had this very interesting texture that was riding the line between chunky and smooth. Aside from San Diego originals like California burritos and carne asada fries, in my opinion, the most "classic" San Diego Mexican offerings are baja style fish tacos and rolled tacos (you have to call them that, "taquitos" are the mid slop you get in the frozen section at Walmart). It was often the case that any given spot would excel in one or two things but not all of them. You learned what was done well at each place over time.
