Jenné Claiborne joins us in the NYT Cooking studio kitchen to make her recipe for one-pot, vegan dirty rice. This version from her cookbook uses vegan meat to stay true to the original essence of the Louisiana dish. Rooted in the age-old tradition of using local, inexpensive ingredients, Jenné’s super savory, peppery, mushroomy rice makes use of items you probably already have in your pantry.

  1. green bell peppers are on the toxic end, rabbits won't eat them if they're in your garden. wait until they turn red, purple, yellow, etc . otherwise good recipe.
