Max opened their first burger restaurang in 1968. McDonalds came to Sweden in 1973.

The Brooklyn Tribute is awesome. I also always liked the Frisco burger, that burger had apple-tree smoked bacon and red onions. They have now changed the recipe, was it last year, or year before that? And it's just plain ordinary bacon, and yellow onion now. So that one was better before.
You should go to "Burger Burger" in Örnsköldsvik they have the best Burgers I've ever tried

There is no such thing as the best burger place. The best meal though, would be burger from Burger King, fries from McD and mozzarella sticks from Max (even though I don't do Max since a number of years ago for political reasons, they don't like SD so they don't get my business).
But why bother, just go to Systembolaget and get a Kickifestis
Im a Swede and I genuinely believe most Swedes who like it do so out of patriotism rather than due to the actual food quality or taste. Max's burger patties are absolutely vile in texture and their fries taste like literal cardboard
Another burger chain that started in Luleå (some claim that Max started in Gällivare, but under the name Max, it was in Luleå), it's 'Bastard Burgers, more expensive but really gourme burgers, great.
Who The fack removes sallad and tomato from burger? No point in eating it then. Sibylla and Frasses are much better! Jureskogs are the best but more expensive.
MAXburgers has been in my country(Norway) for many years
Maybe 15-20 years ago it was the best, now it's only mushy slop. They really did the burgers a nasty when they started automate the cooking and change the sauce to a very watery sour cream base instead of a mayo base. They went from best to one of the worst, i seldom go there anymore.
Their french fries suck, especially when bringing them home. They really don't handle cooling down well!

I used to enjoy Max but since like 10 years ago it's not that great to me anyway. My favorite right now is Mister York, they are slightly more greasy but I love the smash burgers, you should try it.

Great video. But you should really try some of our smaller burger places who are dependant on quality only… (not advertising and recognition factor) Then it's REALLY something.
You should have tried the västerbottensost sticks instead of the mozzarella, they are the best cheese sticks on the planet. Västerbottensost taste similar to Parmesan but are creamy.
After the reported hygiene issues at several Max restaurants I've stopped going to Max, it was better in the past. 😢

the thing with max is thats is just Swedish. started in 1968 and keept in Swedish ownership.
