I felt so bad for this couple, they seemed so sweet..
Cafe 36 is no longer open. It closed on April 18, 2009, less than a year after its Kitchen Nightmares episode first aired.
The restaurant, which was located in La Grange, Illinois, was owned by Terry and Carol Gilmer. Following the closure, the owners cited the difficult economy and Gordon Ramsay's changes as reasons for the failure, claiming the new concept didn't resonate with their customer base.
What Happened to the People?
The Owners (Terry and Carol Gilmer): After the restaurant closed, they moved away from the restaurant business. Reports indicate they eventually retired.
Chef Pinto: Despite his difficult portrayal on the show, he continued to work as an executive chef in the Chicago area for several years, including a long tenure as a private chef for a wealthy family and a role at a high-end catering company.
Chef Barney: The sous chef left shortly after the filming to finish his culinary degree, as was mentioned at the end of the episode.
Pinto is as smart and as fast as a pinto bean 🫘 🤣
Does Gordon ever sleep?
The way terry talks to the waiter makes me so upset. If I was that waiter,Terry would've been decked right then and there

Aww I hope they got to drink that bottle of wine together! What a sweet couple, prob the sweetest- most genuine couple ever!
Being a server and having to constantly apologize for slow food is the worst feeling. It gets so that you don't want to go out to your tables anymore because you don't want to get yelled at. And then they don't tip you and you make nothing, when none of it is your fault.

I never understood why the owners always thought their food was good. Did they not try it?
I think this is the only episode where I'm happy to see the owner fail. Nobody who treats their staff like that deserves to succeed. Dude has an attitude and he's losing 10k a month.
