This Woman is Changing Japan

Tokyo is a foodie paradise… unless you have dietary restrictions.

Is often what you’ll hear, but this woman refused to let that be the case.
Takako-san is a local who built a place that allows everyone to enjoy classic Japanese dishes regardless of their dietary restrictions.
And yes, that includes karaage, ramen, gyoza, AND fluffy pancakes. 🥞😋

If you’re coming to Tokyo and want to learn even more about the Japanese food scene like Japanese table manners, iconic dishes, and the experts behind them, you can check out the Go Go Gourmet Tokyo website run by the official Tokyo government (@tokyotokyooldmeetsnew) that has some cool reads 🙂

  1. Very cool. Will try to check out some day.

Interesting approach too. Not sure if there's an explanation yet, but it seems like most gluten allergies are in the US.

  2. That's so awesome! I know someone with celiac disease and it's much more difficult for her to find places to eat out at, and I can't even imagine travelling to places like Japan with a condition like that and trying to find places with safe food. It's so great to hear about this place, and I hope more follow in her footsteps!

  3. Omgosh, maybe I will be able to eat in Japan after all lol. Last year I became allergic to soy (I really love soy too😢). I already am vegan and allergic to saseme, so I figured I'd be fucked finding food in Japan. Maybe if I stay close to this place I'll be good 😂

  4. For hundreads of years humans eat bread with gluttens then just a past decade people develop allergy with glutten.

  5. Sharing with my celiac friend rn! When I tell you this was the one thing keeping her from visiting Japan… NO EXCUSES NOW!!! MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  6. But I am curious though. Why are they gluten free , soy free , dairy free ?? Just for diet ?? Or For people who has allergy about them ? Because they are nutritional food. If their purpose is for diet, then totally dexpixs without further thought

  7. Very impressive ❤ I cannot have pork or crustaceans due to an autoimmune condition, finding places to eat is very difficult especially with cross contamination of cooktops and pans and such

  8. Hold up… was watching Raimee Travel and saw someone I know 👀 Did y’all start a collab??

  9. A gluten-free diet is considered unnecessary or "dumb" by experts for those without Celiac disease or a valid sensitivity, as
it offers no proven health benefits for the general population
