I Found the WORLD’S MOST UNIQUE RESTAURANT
This is the biggest video we’ve ever produced on the channel. This is a mini documentary.
In this episode, I take you with me to Peru, high up in the Andes Mountains, to discover one of the most unique restaurants in the world.
The mastermind behind it all is chef Virgilio Martinez.
This journey goes deep into Peruvian gastronomy, Inca food culture, and the landscapes that inspire one of the most fascinating culinary projects on Earth.
You’ll see how this chef runs one of the most unique restaurants in the world.

You really spoiled us this time, what an incredible high quality video.
I've watched all your videos since early on. I really liked this expanded educational format. You always give great information while dining, but this is next level. Hope to see more like this.
O Peru é um país maravilhoso!
I am curious about the name of the restaurant. It isn't mentioned in the text accompanying your post. I see and the name "Mil" on the menu; it is referred to as "Central" on the website and referred to sometimes as "Mil Central" on images on Google. I'd just like to use the correct name when referring to it.
It looks like your experience was once in a lifetime, Alexander. It's interesting to me that although cities have the sophistication and play of the grand stage, the most simple and handmade environments are the closest to our soul. I really enjoyed this post and very much appreciate the effort that it took to make it. Clearly, a very deep knowledge of one's culture and food and an extremely attentive response to both make for beautiful experiences.
Thank you.
This is definitely my favorite video, not only the video itself but I swear I could smell the food because of the way you show it. Thank you for this
Dont normally comment, but how could I not! Spectacular video, just beautiful! Bravo!
Not to nitpick but the Inca culture Is ~1400 AD not BC
Your most unique video yet. Understanding how culture is infused in restaurants and food is always mesmerizing. What a beautiful place and peoples. Thanks for doing something so different.
This video is next level for you! More like Chefs Table on Netflix. Well done, five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Im from Lima, i have to say no other cuisine comes CLOSE to peruvian food.
The best videos are where we learn new things about cultures and how thar can be used in craft.
I can relate to western foods and imagine the bites in my mouth, through your eyes. I have no context to this as it’s entirely local to this small region.
Superlatives fail to describe!
This is not a restaurant – this is an experience 😀.
And thanks for the longer episode – the last ones became somewhat too short for me.
One of the coolest chefs, I have seen trough the screen. What he does has a deep connection with Mother Earth. The beautiful abundance of food.
I am successfully dreaming 😊
1400 BC? Um, no. The height of the Incan empire was around 1400 AD, and it didn't exist at all before 1200 AD.
Best video yet love the quality and format of the video. Interesting and educational while still making my taste buds burst.Would love to see more unique places thumbs up guys keep it coming.
At least bother to learn how his name is pronounced, just google Virgilio – Vir / gi / li/ o
Been to those exact places (except the restaurant) last year, one of the greatest vacations in my life. The altitude does get to you, though. Now, starting to enjoy your video! At 08:12, guinea pigs. A national delicacy. I can personally confirm this. 😋
thx peru🥰😇🤩😘
This video is way more then a restaurant review. This is a master class in Peruvian food and culture, thank you Alex and team🙏 Can't wait to visit this country, in the summer!!!
I Love your work, but this restaurant is not one I would ever wish to visit. It is primitive and just not attractive, no Champagne, no decent wine, no decent Cognac. The Emperors new cloths.
When possible, please do more videos like this! Wow!
So many great restaurants and Alex just goes to the same ones again.
alexander the GOAT
It's great to see you evolve as a creator Alexander. I love all your content and michelin reviews, but this is next level!
Oh, wow. Alex, turning into Antony Bourdain! Amazing episode!
Thumbnail had me immediately thinking Sacred Valley! Love Peruvian cuisine.
Beautiful ❤
This may be the best video on the channel, Alexander. Genuinely, a masterpiece, thank you for sharing.
Incredible video incredible people , thank you ❤
An amazing trip!
This honestly feels like your magnum opus so far. Different, more personal and with a lot more depth than your other videos.
