My parents loved the salad bar at a restaurant in the 80s. They loved the chickpeas. Doctors told them that chickpeas were bad for them. Seriously, no reason to listen to doctors anymore. They are practicing on you and I. You know what works for you. You know what not to eat. You’ve got this.

My wonderful Husband passed away April 29th/2024 from a sudden and unexpected diagnosis of stage 4 terminal cancer,,, he lived only 2 months (well, not actually 2 months, nearly 2 months ). We used to eat home cooked meals and I’ve always loved cooking for our family through our many years together, and I still cooked when it was just him and I at home. Since he’s passes, I have trouble cooking now, because it reminds of him and how much he loved my cooking. I’ve been mostly eating canned soups with crackers. I need to try eating more healthy again. So, thank you very much!❤

Speaking of ALERTS….I use a lot of canned tuna. I prefer Yellowfin, but will use Albacore (if on sale). My preferred brand is Genova, but a sale with $3.00 off for 6/8 (can’t recall) had me buying Bumblebee Albacore in water. Hmmm…when I used the first can, I noticed that the can was the same size as the original 6 oz but now labeled as 5 oz. That’s OLD news. However, inside was a different story. It appeared (by sight) to be significantly LESS than 5 oz. Of tuna I usually see. So, using my scale, I weighed the Bumblebee tuna, and the water. The water weighed at exactly 1 ounce. The tuna weighed exactly 4 (FOUR) ounces!!! I purchased a multi-pack, so I weighed each can as I came to it. SAME RESULTS. Last week, I got my Genova, (a dollar more than the Bumblebee) but I also wanted to test this brand. Well, it was a 5 oz can, but 5.2 oz of tuna, and .8 oz of fluid!!! I haven’t finished with the Genova package, but I liked that I got more product than fluid!!! Just my own opinion, but buyer beware!!!

Anything sweet is OFF the plate for. Eating good meals is hard bc so many meals are FULL of sweet something or other.

Probably all the oldie stuff I’m looking up to be healthier for longer. 💪 I do actually make multiple servings and freeze some so I have good food I just have to defrost and heat. My usual is eat two freeze two. When I go to the freezer and it’s better than the takeaways I would have ordered feeling lazy.

There needs to be a daily balance between fibre, protein, fat, dairy & fruit. None of these dishes satisfies this requirement; and portion control is critical.

Honestly when you’re tired all the time even simple meals feel like too much work. 😅 I remember being exhausted every day, belly bloated after eating and constantly craving random snacks. Even “healthy” foods made my stmach feel heavy and uncomfortable. I tried changing meals and nothing helped. Then in a womens online group someone mentioned (Eat.Like.a.Woman.Protocol) (loren.green). I read it and everything shifted… 28 lbs gone, belly flat and my energy finally steady again. Still surprised this isn’t talked about more.
Feeling too tired to cook used to be my daily reality because my energy was always so low. 😔 I’d eat quick snacks or random meals and my stmach stayed bloated all the time. I tried high-protein foods, meal plans, supplements… nothing fixed how awful I felt. In a womens healing forum someone suggested (Eat.Like.a.Woman.Protocol) – (lorengreen). I tried it and things flipped completely… 30 lbs lost, digestion calm and my energy finally stable again. Kinda crazy how hidden this info seems.

This video literally came up as I'm eating my dinner: small can sweet chilli tuna, 3 cocktail tomatoes, avocado, fetta, french dressing & 2 slices bread. I'm only 54 but I prefer eating simple things that are not too heavy. Love these ideas.
