This week we link up with Jake and Mikkel from @twoblokesfishing for an epic venison cook up that turned into one of the most unique episodes yet. What started as a last minute plan quickly became a full day of cooking, stories, backyard produce, and some seriously impressive wild game food.

In this episode, the boys take freshly prepared venison and turn it into an unreal spread featuring venison sliders on homemade bread, smoked venison tacos loaded with fresh pico de gallo, guac and salsa verde, rare backstrap cooked the way it should be, and a wood fired venison pizza finished with backyard chilli honey. Pretty much everything used throughout the cook came straight from the property, nearby growers, or from Jake and Mikkel’s own prep, which made this one feel proper farm to table from start to finish.

There’s also a great look into how they handle and prepare venison, from breaking it down and mincing it for burgers, to smoking tougher cuts low and slow, to cooking backstrap hot and fast for a perfect rare finish. You also get a look around the garden while they pick fresh chillies, tomatoes, basil, coriander and limes, plus a tour of the setup and hunting stories along the way.
