You Only Get 30 Minutes to Finish This Ol’ 96er BBQ Food Challenge!

For the final episode of my trip, I’m in the state of New Jersey for the first time, visiting the town of Cookstown to attempt Local Smoke BBQ’s “Ol’ 96er” BBQ Platter Challenge! Local Smoke BBQ is known for its award-winning, slow-smoked barbecue and casual dining atmosphere. The business started as a competition BBQ team in 2007 before opening restaurant locations in New Jersey. Their menu features a variety of smoked meats like brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, and sausage, along with classic BBQ sides. Local Smoke BBQ has won many awards at barbecue competitions and is known for using traditional low-and-slow smoking methods to create authentic BBQ flavors.

The “Ol’ 96er” BBQ Platter Challenge features a full rack of St. Louis–style ribs, a Wagyu sausage, mac and cheese bites, potato salad, BBQ baked beans, fries, cornbread, and eight sliders with four different flavors. You have 30 short minutes to finish everything. If you can complete the challenge within the time limit, you’ll get the $96 meal free, a $50 gift card, a T-shirt, and a photo on the Wall of Fame.

  1. I originally had another challenge planned in New Jersey, but decided to skip it since I was starting to feel pretty sluggish toward the end of the trip. I’ll make my way back later this year for some more challenges. Currently getting ready to head to Milwaukee tomorrow with plenty more episodes to film. Hope you all had a great week, and thank you for the continued support 💪🏼

  2. The Golfer's Inn is lowkey a crazy choice for your hotel. Basically an 80 dollar a night motel. You put out multiple videos a week and I know Randy pays you for editing and uploading his videos. Bro said he stayed at a place that doesn't have coffee in the morning, that's kind of insane. Why are you staying there lol You're not living in Florida, addicted to drugs anymore. Do better.

  3. 96 dollars for that is an absolute STEAL. Last time my office mates and I decided on BBQ, it was likely 80% (food wise) of what you got and it was over 300 BUCKS!!! We will still splurge but, it's definitely getting less often. Last time we went out for "crab boil", well of 700. 8 people and there were those that won't even eat crustaceans or shell fish, just chicken tenders!!!! Oh my Lord!
    RANT OFF!!!!
we really want to do crab boil again, uhg

  4. Your next challenge is a cottage pie made with beef and not a shepherds pie made with lamb. I bet you dollars to donuts and you’re gonna hear about it.!

  5. You think :36 was bad? Try slipping on ice going to work. Slipping again that same night getting out of a taxi and getting stuck between a large vehicle and a snowbank and needing the fire department to hoist up and over the snowbank. Then falling a third time the next night in the back of the building. Haven't been able to do public transportation since. Bit of ptsd. Always afraid to slip or trip.

  6. Damn, Nate! I discovered you once you came back to eating and after watching the first few videos to now, it seems like you've gotten much stronger as an eater. I also, discovered you live in Utah now which is my home state (as we don't get much love) I subscribed to you. I now live in Vegas, I found that a bit funny too.

  7. "The ole 96er"
All that's left on that plate is gristle and fat.
If I can get him to down a desert, think you could throw some hats and shirts in for the kids?

  8. Clutch yet again! Cutting it so close every time! Makes for good YT watchin! Great job, man! 👍

  9. Dude love your content however, your boss is successful because of his personality and food coverage. I understand you don’t like pickles and spicy. Quit complaining

  10. You gotta love these restaurants who make the challenge almost impossible, but the best food eaters in the world to complete. I hate these places. "Yea, lets make so much food, nobody can possibly eat it, but the very best in the world. They'll still have to pay us for the food, haha!. Oh yea, lets only give them 30 minutes, so they are sure to fail". I say ban these restaurants, and their challenges.
