π RECIPE (Full Written Version)
Serves 5 | Prep Time 15 Minutes | Cook Time 35 Minutes | Total Time 50 Minutes
Chicken & Chorizo
900g (2lb) – Chicken Breast, diced into large bite-size pieces
200g (7oz) – Chorizo, diced small
2 Tbsp (30ml) – Olive Oil
Salt & Black Pepper
Rice
300g (1 Β½ cups) – Jasmine Rice
600ml (2 Β½ cups) – Chicken Stock
Vegetables
1 – Brown Onion, Finely Diced
1 – Red Capsicum, Diced
1 – Zucchini, Diced
3 – Garlic Cloves, Minced
Creamy Paprika Sauce
2 Tbsp (30ml) – Tomato Paste
1 Tbsp (7g) – Smoked Paprika
1 tsp (3g) – Dried Oregano
Β½ tsp (1g) – Chilli Flakes
150ml (β
cup) – Light Cream
Garnish
Fresh Parsley, Chopped
Method
Place a large deep pan over medium heat and add the diced chorizo. Cook for 3β4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the fat has rendered and the edges are lightly caramelised. Remove the chorizo from the pan and set aside, leaving the flavoured oil behind.
Increase the heat slightly and add the diced chicken breast directly into the chorizo fat. Season with salt and black pepper. Sear for 3β4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken has developed colour but is only about 60β70% cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside with the chorizo.
Reduce the heat back to medium. If the pan looks dry, add a small drizzle of olive oil. Add the diced onion and cook for 2β3 minutes until softened. Add the capsicum and zucchini and continue cooking for another 3 minutes until the vegetables begin to take on a light colour. Stir through the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the tomato paste, smoked paprika, dried oregano and chilli flakes. Cook this mixture for 1β2 minutes, stirring constantly, to remove the raw edge from the tomato paste and toast the spices.
Add the uncooked jasmine rice directly into the pan and stir well so the grains are coated in the flavoured oil and spice mixture. Pour in the chicken stock and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover loosely and cook for 12β14 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is mostly tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
Pour in the light cream and stir well to combine. Return the chicken and chorizo to the pan and fold everything together. Simmer gently for a further 2 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked, the sauce has lightly emulsified, and the rice is perfectly tender.
Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes. This helps the sauce thicken slightly, and the texture settles before portioning.
Divide evenly into five 750ml meal prep containers. Finish with sliced spring onion and fresh parsley before sealing once fully cooled.

This looks lovely. Think zucchini is often overlooked and itβs such a great vegetable. I probably wonβt use chorizo but I think it would still be delicious. Def need Parmesan or I like to use pecorino too. Thanks Chef Jack

This potion looks small, I doubt if it can really feed my stomach full enough
Glad you brought up your kiddo, I hope my 15 months old toddler's gonna love it too π
Thanks for the amazing recipe!
Are there any vegetarian alternatives would you recommend to Chorizo? Or can I leave it out?
Looks great!
Can you change your release schedule to Friday so I can buy the required ingredients for these bangers when I do the Saturday food shop please π€£
Looks amazing. I'd have to probably cut the recipe in half as we don't have much freezer space.
Excited to make this one! Looks amazing as always Jack!
Bro.. you turned me into a world class chef… like wtf..
I've been following you since the start of year and WOW. Every dish comes out just as shown in the vid. And the taste is TOP!
Spared me so much time during the week, also money and other resources. Every Sunday I'm just waiting to see what goodness I'll be eating the following week..
Simple list of ingredients + clear and precise instructions is indeed a recipe for success. : )
Thank you!! ππ»ππ»
1 thing tho.. Could you bring more potato recipes? Or other variety of carbs, not only rice or pasta? π«‘
Thanks for this one jack
Hands down; the best meal prep chef on YouTube! I used to hate meal prepping because my flavors were bland. Now I feel like I'm eating restaurant quality dishes. You are awesome chef, thank you for helping us save time & create delicious meals! π¦
Mexican chorizo vs Spanish chorizo very different indeed
Chef, you should make a cookbook exclusively with food prep recipes π
Looks delicious as always ππβ¦..thanks Jack!
I was hoping for the nutritional info. I need to track it all.
Jack, I need a lasagna meal prep recipe, please make one.
Beauty
I was just saying to myself, "some spinach would be good in that" and about 5 seconds later you suggested the spinach.
Nice and simple and very concisely presented. Nice one! ππ»
The way this video explains things step-by-step makes it super easy to followβ¦ honestly one of the most underrated explanations out there π
Would Mexican chorizo work as a substitute for Spanish chorizo? I donβt know if they taste different or not. Otherwise, this recipe looks great!
To my surprise, I learned that the Mexican chorizo i bought isnt solid and cured, but rather mushy and raw. Oh well, guess itll still work. Lol
Hey Chef, thanks for another great video.
Here in the US, cooking cream really isn't easy to find. I was hoping you could give an alternative. Thanks for all the great recipes!!
What containers are those? I assume those store well in the freezer since you mentioned they go in the freezer for months. Thanks!
why don't you include the calories in all of your recipes, it clearly something you calculated?
I mean this is good but the portion size is absolutely tiny lmao.
Capsicum?… Bro it's called a Bell Pepper!
Yummy! Gonna swap in Trader Joe's Turkey Chorizo and run with this!! ππ
Thx Chef Jack. 13 months already?!! Time is flying. π₯°ππ½
congrats on being a dad!!!
Just for the record no human on earth has ever once had a protein deficiency.
Hi Chef, thank you for always sharing your great recipes. Can you please tell the substitute for Chorizo in this recipe and the macros? Thank you
