This #WorldHealthDay, I want to talk about how we can reduce sodium in our diets without compromising on taste. High sodium intake has been linked to rising cases of hypertension, making mindful choices in the kitchen more important than ever.
So, I went back to basics, a humble Dal Tadka, to show how one small, smart change can make a meaningful difference. A little less salt, and a touch of #MSG to bring in that beautiful #umami depth.
Did you know? MSG contains nearly 70% less sodium than regular table salt. When used along with reduced salt, it can help cut down sodium in your dish by up to 40% without compromising that familiar, comforting taste.
We’ve always experienced umami in our food. It was simply given a name about a century ago. Now, it’s time we start using it more intentionally in our kitchens.
