Chemical fertilizers kill the land and hence produce sick plants that require protection from diseases and insects with poisons. The food comes from sick plants. A great percent of the crop goes to ethanol and sick animals in the feed lots. It is not a food which keeps us healthy. The sick food industry depends on doles given by tax payers and money printed by governments. A major component is the transpiration costs that will make it unaffordable to most who have kept themselves away from food sources.
We've been using fossil fuels for about 250-300 years. Humm, I wonder how we survived before all that? I bet we can again if we have to. 😏.
Don't forget urea is used in ethanol production as is sulfuric acid. So that will also increase prices at the pump

As soon as Trump got elected I started building garden beds and decided I need to start growing my own food bc I knew he would F something up!
Here at the end of the world, pacific north west, south west corner of washing state, Long Beach WA. 2 plus hours from the nearest freeway, Gas is $5.99 and food a the grocery is 15-20% higher than in the Cities. Everything is higher! We are seeing the shortages here because every where else gets their supplies first, we get what is left when the truck can get here.

Iran imports food, 40%, the Strait of Hormuz being closed is not doing its imports any good.
The USA uses Corn, 35%, others use Sugar, to make Ethanol. Used as an additive,10%, in Gasoline.
Adjust the level of ethanol in Gasoline and it frees up food for humans/animals.

Oh I know it’s coming. I rented a 10×10 garden plat this season to grow food. I also bought a pressure canner. I buy a little extra at the store each time in order to can the extra ingredients.
People have no idea what is involved in industrial farming production. Farming is now heavily dependent on fertilizer.
