The 40 YEAR-OLD CURRY HOUSE in Manchester | Food Review | TFT
Today I headed down to Kabana in Cheetham Hill, Manchester – a true old-school gem that’s been serving the community for nearly 40 years 👏
This place hasn’t changed one bit… no modern refurb, no fancy decor – just that proper, authentic vibe you don’t see much anymore. Still run by the same owners after all these years, Cabana is all about tradition, consistency, and real home-style cooking.
I came down to try their famous Rice & 3, along with some of their homemade curries – and I can see exactly why this spot stays packed. It’s cheap, cheerful, and full of flavour. The kind of food that hits the spot every single time 🔥
Service was spot on, the atmosphere was buzzing, and you can really feel how much this place means to the local community. Proper hidden gem vibes!
If you’re in Manchester and want something authentic, filling, and full of character… this is definitely one to check out.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve been here before, or where I should head to next 👇

Love curry houses like this, takes me back to the mid-80s/early 90s during my time at uni in London
Food looks banging, just suprised they close early for an indian restarant
You said cheap and cheerful 3 times within a minute 😂
Ibrahim use to work with him at all maida food made old school way ma sha Allah great vlog and food
Absolutely class. My kind of place too and will definitely visit next time i am in Manchester. Thanks as always for your work TFT.
I used to think "This and That" and Kabana were the best in Manchester, till I found Maida Grill on Liverpool street. You will love the Lamb Karahi from this family run place, cheap too.
The cheese naan looked sooo good. As did the lamb, pity you didn't get the lamb chops also, they're my favourite. They're busy for a good reason. Great prices too. Fair score you gave them. Thanks for another great, honest review TFT
I was hoping you'd try those lamb chops to tell us if they're good
Always a banger of a review, love the work TFT, May the Al Mighty shower his infinite blessings on you, your family and anyone who reads this
Places like this dont need any renovation, the old skool decor make the food taste better for some reason
Salams bro… it seem your channel is just concentrating on pakistani/indian muslim resturants why dont you review non halal muslim establishments, it will look less bias..this is the uk lets celebrate it..god bless the king
ooh my . this place looks great
You should have gone dahbar next door that place is epic.
They opened for the local factory workers and traditionally Saturdays was a day off for them that’s why they are closed … I do feel it needs a good clean up though even if the food is 🔥
Man I eat there every month. I’ve never seen the server so nervous….you obviously shook him. Yes it could be cleaner but it’s certainly not dirty. The food is excellent and always consistent. If memory serves, it was a English lady who married a Asian guy guy. Both sons work there occasionally.
👍🏾
Proper old school this place
Narrated Ibn Al-Musaiyab:
Abu Huraira said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'A prayer performed in congregation is twenty-five times more superior in reward to a prayer performed by a single person. The angels of the night and the angels of the day are assembled at the time of the Fajr (Morning) prayer." Abu Huraira added, "If you wish, you can recite:– 'Verily! The recitation of the Qur'an in the early dawn (Morning prayer) is ever witnessed (attended by the angels of the day and the night).' (17.78) (Evidence Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith number 4717)
Closed on a Saturday? Unheard of for a restaurant in this climate. Very considerate of the owners for their staff to enjoy a that day off.
