For over 24 hours I am eating at Japanese department store food halls, also known as depachika, in Tokyo. From fresh sushi and premium bento boxes to incredible desserts and street food-style snacks, I explore Tokyo’s hidden underground food cities packed beneath famous department stores.

These food halls are some of the most underrated food destinations in Japan, offering high-quality meals at every price point. I travel across Tokyo to try as many different dishes as possible.

Department stores I went to:
Keio
Odakyu
Isetan

  1. The boss back in the house, one of the first food YouTubers I ever watched back in the day. Inspired me to do the same…… badly 😂😂😂 thanks Mikey

  2. By the Very thought of that_ You’ve always brings out The BEST of me with those “Good Meal$” of yours. Myself, should might as well, get what you gotten. Or!! Perhaps, another time around. When so, hungry enough? Anyways! Nice job & thanks for playing Weekend videos.

  3. I love the food in Japan, but was frustrated with the eating culture. If you’re a tourist and don’t live there, you’re surround by amazing food but it’s all intended to take home. No where to eat and no where to sit down: street food too: you find people huddling in a corner scarfing it down as again, no where to sit and you’re not supposed to eat or drink while walking.

  4. Are these department stores in Shinjuku? I feel like staying in Shinjuku for a week in June and just eat from these department stores!

  5. We flew from Vancouver, Canada to Manila on ANA in economy, the food was the best I have ever had on a flight!

  6. Thank you for the wonderful video of you eating your way through Tokyo's underground shopping area for 24 hours! 👍

  7. Not just department stores, I used to go to my supermarket at like 8pm and get the discounted food, but the selection was not always that great.
