Iran’s MB Ghalibaf rejects “Table of Surrender” as US President Trump’s Bomb threat looms amid war

Ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict has reached a new height with critical flashpoint as ceasefire deadline nears end. Top Iranian negotiator, MB Ghalibaf, has lashed out at Trump, accusing him of sabotaging diplomatic channels through aggressive rhetoric & alleged truce violations. MB Ghalibaf stated that the Iranian leadership refuses to engage in dialogue while under threat. In a public statement on X, he argued that Trump administration is attempting to transform the diplomatic arena into a “table of surrender”. He cautioned that Tehran is prepared to reveal “new cards on the battlefield” should the current friction lead to a military escalation. This strong response came from Iranian side following series of remarks from US President Trump. In an interview with PBS News, Trump issued ultimatum regarding upcoming rounds of war talks in Islamabad. He warned that “lots of bombs will start going off” if a significant breakthrough is not achieved by the deadline. U.S. President Trump’s remarks flares the global tensions in the month-long West Asia crisis. America has also been casting doubt on whether the Iranian delegation would actually appear at the negotiating table. Trump though clarified, that the American delegation would move forward, but Tehran’s presence was not guaranteed. Trump indicated that Washington is prepared to either finalise a deal or abruptly pivot its strategy if the process collapses. The US-Iran war deadlock is rooted in long-running disputes over the Iranian nuclear programme and the control of Strait of Hormuz. In a further sign of degrading relations, Iranian state media has hinted that Tehran may boycott the Islamabad summit.
